Why is it difficult to fix? Just look at where he presented himself for the first time and see what changes have been made compared to the previous version. I don't think it's that difficult!

Soon, I think, leaving it on "Default" will automatically enable 1.3, since that's the way that it already works in Chrome 68 (as tested on ssllabs.com). I assume that what "Default" means was changed sometime after our rather old 65.
I stumbled on this thread because i had a similar problem. I was able to disable the icon by adding this to my custom.css. It removes the icon, but you can still mute the tab by clicking where the icon should be. Prob not ideal, but works for my issue.
