For me that is a issue which should not happen when have release Vivaldi for many languages.

Once that is done, share the bug number (beginning with VB-) you got by bug report mail.

I also vote for a toggle option. This change not only affects "Save Link As" but also when saving images (both using "Save image as" and Ctrl+S when images are on its own tabs). This is a severe usability issue in the cases mentioned above.

Btw, another toggle for unique names when saving pages would be a nice thing too, imo.

By the time I was able to get back to the forum, Vivaldi 7.0.3495 had been released, and it appears to fix both the Pinned Tabs thumbnail bug and the focus bug I described (but never opened a thread for). At least, I'm seeing no signs of either in any installation of Vivaldi across Windows 10 and 11 machines. 😊

This change destroyed many people's efficient working setups and replaced them with what many consider an ugly, inefficient UI design, with no straightforward way to get a semblance of their finely-tuned personal setups back without a lot of research and manual work.

For a browser that constantly touts how it adapts to the user's configuration and layout preferences, this is a direct refutation of that concept.

Seems I might have found the culprit. I normally have new windows/tabs show a blank page, but on a new install with the start page on, it seems the first window gives focus to the search box on the page, and later windows give focus to the URL bar.

To avoid this, try to keep your amount of pinned tabs to the ones you actually need to have pinned. Having hundreds of pinned tabs kind of defeats the whole purpose of pinning your most used tabs.

The amount of tabs was surely insane. But I did not create this insane amount myself. At one point of my attempts to fix all this, Vivaldi itself created them. Not only an insane amount, but an insane amount of completely useless tabs - because most of them were empty. But that's fixed now because I deleted them one by another. After that, Vivaldi looked like a "real" Vivaldi again.

And yes, you're right, what I mean is pinned tabs. Forgot they are called this way.

I need the notes widget to be resizable in height.

@mikeyb2001 The search field remembers its last-used search engine. The URL field uses the default unless you add a nickname.

To save space, settings, search:

Show as Button

I use bookmarks and its folders to save a address for longterm use.
Readinglist when i want to visit pages after a few hours, the next days, as sort of to-do list.
