+1 for feature request. Allow custom icons for bookmark folders.

I have many folders on my Bookmarks bar and want to be able to tell them apart at a glance.

Even being able to change the colour of the folder icon individually would be good.

I have titles for bookmarks hidden, as I also have many regular bookmarks on my bar next to the folders, so the emoticon workaround doesn't work for me.

@yojimbo274064400 ya thats what I am doing right now, the use case here is just an example though, I think having this functionality would be a nice feature for command chains in general.

is only possible within the Window Panel. The problem is, its not independent from the other panels and it is very unergonomic and tiresome going from it to Mail/Feeds, then back, then Notes, then back, etc, that's why I created this Feature Request [Window Panel] Make Window Panel independent, and others that you can read about (and vote for) here https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/756038 (or from my signature). The "magic number" is 50 (votes), if we can reach that, there is hope.

This feature is asked for about all Chromium projects since many years. It is the main reason why, today, I still use Firefox as my main browser at work.

We use most of all Microsoft services (Sharepoint, OneDrive, mails and soon Business Central, etc). For IT support, I often has to connect to different accounts and Multi-Account Containers extension is an absolute must for me. And all the containers are synched with the Mozilla account, so I can have them on all my computers (work, personal, Windows, Linux...).

You have SessionBox for Chromium browser that do something similar to the Multi-Account containers. It was a free product, then became a paid thing. If you are willing to pay...

Yes please, I used to use Arc before switching to Vivaldi. The only shortfall I feel by switching from Arc is the lack of this feature.

Funny thing. I found this thread while I was searching for how to disable the autofocus on search field in settings page. I don't like the behavior when you click on a section in the settings (it focus the section and follow with the autofocus in the search field, it makes the section title less visible (don't use the dominant color as expected).

EDIT : the bad behavior happens only with settings in a tab, not in a popup. In the popup, search field has autofocus only when the settings popup is opened the first time (then if you click in a section, the autofocus don't come back in the search field). In the tab version, the search field always autofocus every time you click on a section title. Is it a bug ?!

I would love it if keyboard shortcuts where synced between devices. As for between OS, probably the best approach is to go by physical position so for example CTRL+CMD+T on macOS is CTRL+ALT+T on Windows.

Damn almost 7 years later and nothing. Is this deliberate to force people to use speed dials or what?

I really like Vivaldi,but I don‘t understand why 8 years passed，this feature still dosen't exist.

For me,I think this simple feature is very basic,to help peaple find where are their needed tabs or stacks.

Many browers or extensions have it,for example：

chrome.png

Hope this condition will change soon.

The "Fluent" options change the appearance and the "Overlay" hides them until you scroll.

@igorsantos07 I can only agree about the devtools zoom. That's the main negative I've found so far. When I use devtools (being a developer) the font is too small for me, and in Firefox and Chrome I just have to focus on the dev tools and then cmd + to get the desired zoom and the browser will remember this "forever" (more or less). But in Vivaldi the settings is only remembered for that window and that session. It's not persisted. Surely this is a bug? It can't be a feature...

So a big upvote from me for fixing this ASAP.

As a (now retired) Product Manager for a cloud-based software development company, I understand and appreciate the information and explanation that you have provided. In fact, there are quite a few "critical" feature requests that I submitted during my years as a PM that are still on the "TBD" list, having never made it to the official product roadmap... while I continued to design features that I personally considered to be of lower priority. Many factors, including available resources, potential product impact, customer acceptance, marketing/sales impact, etc. come into play.

I personally see "Delete Disk Items" as a high priority issue, but also understand that many users infrequently download files and therefore see this at worst as a minor inconvenience. There are also extensions that can be used for the desired functionality.(But, it is nice to see it in the pipeline!)

I think this has been requested several times now. I don't know how feasible it is, but it would be much cleaner to have all the visible workspaces co-equal, renamable, and behaving the same way within the window.

@Pesala Turning a stack into a bookmark folder is still useful, the folder keeps the related tabs nicely together. I've done this when I was researching something and had all the tabs in a stack. I will probably not need to open all the tabs again at once, but I like to have them organized in their own folder in the bookmarks.
