To add to this, would also like to protect or lock tab and workspace contents, perhaps as a "mini-kiosk". Think of managing multiple email accounts, with multiple tabs in a workspace that is protected from deletion or modification of contents/tabs.

Known bug: VB-79214 "Cannot drag tabs between/out of private windows" - Confirmed, no dev assigned.

It is a Cool feature, would be nice to have to quickly switch focus between different areas of work.

Seems this forum has a new feature where the composition box is floating independently over the original page. Nice, but none of the other places I post have it.

Also noticed that, hence mentioned the "quick reply", which is different. But then again, I don't really want to depend on the decisions of the page designer, I need this to work consistently everywhere

I hope ths feature request will get more attention by others over the months and years. Perhaps when developers would have spare time, they could add a delete button.

One update. If this ever gets to implementation, I think additional option like:

do not close tabs which play sound

would make it easier for us to have music played from sites lie YT Music, Spotify etc. Music plays - tabs stay there. Music doesn't play - tab is subject to close like normal.

Thank you. But if you have used those panels with a keyboard, you should notice that you need to press tab, after you engage the panel, until you get to the actual list selection. Also, closing needs additional shortcut when it could be just command+w, as closing any tab or window.
So that's not what I was talking about. I know about panels, I don't like the implementation of it, especially for keyboard users and when tiling window managers are engaged. If you use a tiling window manager, a window becomes like a portal, so there is minimal need for panels, because the user interface is already automatically managed. In fact, I am glad that at least we have the possibility to use the standard download tab in the chrome engine.

If you uncheck include all workspaces and check save only tabs in current window. That should work.

If you only close the window, workspace stays, as it should. If you remove workspace it should be gone. There is option if you right click the workspace name in the drop-down.

Contrary to the Tab Bar, with the Window Panel you can drag & drop selected tabs (and tab stacks!) with the mouse into Workspaces. Yes, the Window Panel is miles superior to the tab bar, unfortunately it's been years since they improved it, which is a shame.

@SmoothMarx That request did not gain much traction. I guess because there is a simple workaround, in your case, switch to the first window before restarting.

Tip: Make a bookmark to vivaldi://restart to speed up the process.

Anyway, let us see if anyone else needs this.

ok it works great as a command-chain toolbar, except as npro suggested it would be much better to go directly to the mail client window rather than having to press a button. So I suggest changing this suggestion to make a command-chain action available that is for opening the mail client directly by taking the user to the window where it resides and opening it.
