Hi, there are extensions do this, the most public is not free anymore 4.99$/month, but it is possible.
Vivaldi use extensions already for major features, this would be a killer feature. 🙂

@harshavst I fear not. Vivaldi is not connect-able to google account services (at browser level) and I suspect password manager is. But you can export password (if are locally stored) from chrome to vivaldi with export/import features.

I support @rejzor - I have had issues trying to sync os-specific extensions such as "Gnome Shell Extensions" which is specific to Linux, but shows up annoyingly when using Windows.

Thanks @Hadden89 and @barbudo2005 ! The mod indeed is exactly it! Somehow I didn't find that when looking for such specifically, nor in the other threads on the subject I had found which only got as far as mentioning third-party extensions which wouldn't do much.

I would highly suggest it as a standard browser option, as it makes extensions a lot less daunting for new users. It's the one thing I couldn't wrap my head around.

The PS still stands. It's regarding the extension details, just to make clear, with this toggle not doing anything:

As for the PPS, this is when right-clicking the Extensions icon with Manage extensions missing by default:

hi yeah, I know I can click on the image to resize it, but I would prefer for there to be an option to set the default display method as: 'display original'. If I then want the image shrunk to fit the window I can always click on it to have that happen.

Setting of default behaviours is not going to suit everyone and I believe that having a choice is better than not having a choice.

I've found a Chrome extension (image autosizer) which kind of does what I want but it has quite quirky behaviour and is still not as capable as Firefox once you turn off the auto-resize option in about:config.

As a retired developer I know it's not a big task to NOT call the function to resize a large image to fit the page on loading the image, and it's not a big task to provide a settings option to toggle this behaviour on/off.
I just hope it's an option which eventually gets included 🙂
