For those who use PWA, this bug makes it impossible to use the browser.

@far4 I am having the same issue with it hanging too long and I have also turned it off. The ability to change the dwell time or to be able to swipe it away would be great. Only way to clear it without waiting is to minimize the app.

Somehow it looks like the tab switch order is kept from before the tabs were grouped/moved. I had this config:
[ 1 2 3 4 5 ] 6 7 8
the tab switch order was 6 7 2 3 4 5 8, i moved tabs 6 and 7 to the left of the group to get the expected 1 to 8 switch order; can't really reproduce it as it looks like moving one tab fixes things

@DoctorG Ahh I see, I did have specific page tabs I wanted to have open on startup but i've just moved them all to workspaces and just have to remember to not close them anymore.

@npro fwiw the beta update of 2 or 3 days ago fixed heaps of the problems i mentioned earlier... it's now a very very usable browser! today there was another update, but i couldn't notice anything obvious that had changed.

ongoing issues still needing to be fixed:

tab groups remain visible across all workspaces, instead of staying only in their correct WS i cannot deduce how to unsplit tabs. there's no GUI tool for it that i can see, no context-menu item, & no keyboard-shortcut for it

The first thing that I recommend is to assign easy to remember shortcuts to tiling operations. The second thing is to edit the Tab Menu in Settings, Appearance, Menu Customisation, Tabs. To open a link in a new tab that is not part of the tiled tabs, drag the link and drop it onto the New Tab button.

I wonder if it is possible to make a better tab choice when using Split View, allowing you to search and open something new, or choose from the already open tabs. Another good thing to implement would be to join the split tabs, or somehow highlight that they are on the same screen.

I'm glad [@]christopherjtaylor was able to resolve this in their case, but I'm not the admin for my organization and don't have access to our Google Admin Console (where Tasks is apparently set as disabled), so my Google Workspace account simply does not connect. I can't even work around the problem by using the secret iCal link that Google Calendar provides because, due to how events are represented internally, I sometimes end up with several copies of the same event in Vivaldi as a result. I imagine the necessary code change here would be as simple as a null guard, some other if statement, a try/catch block, or a new catch clause.

Vivaldi Version 7.3.3635.11 (Stable channel) (64-bit) Windows 11 24H2 (26100.3915) Intel Core i9-14900HX @ 2.20 GHz (x64-based) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 (Laptop) 32 GB RAM, ample M.2 SSD storage

I'm sad to see this has still not been added and does not have all too many upvotes.
It's pretty much the only reason I still have thunderbird installed instead of just using mail and calendar in vivaldi...

Edge and Even Firefox now have this capability natively. This is an area where Vivaldi has started to fall behind.

Every few days, sometimes a tad longer, I have to click on the iCloud Extension icon in the browser (macOS Sequoia 15.5 Beta); it'll have a line through it, as if disabled, and when I click on it, it prompts me for a six digit iCloud passkey that appears on-screen that I have to type into the extension code prompt.
Try this, see if it is simply locked and needs the prompt. I use Vivaldi and the only issue I have is having to retype the prompt every few days or so. If anything, delete the extension, set it up again and see what happens then.
I hope you get this resolved. I use it fine on my MacBook (M4 Pro) in Vivaldi (I installed it from their home page, not using Homebrew, if that helps).
