I am a bit bemused by all this. The obvious answer is to attach the mail controls to the mail tab, just as the calendar controls are attached to the calendar tab. The address bar and the bookmarks bars are universal. They should be shown or not according to user choice on all tabs / windows or no tabs / windows. The mail toolbar is specific to the mail tab and so should appear (or not, I guess but why wouldn't you?) whenever the mail tab is accessed, irrespective of the user's preferences regarding address and bookmark bars. It is a category error to lump the mail bar behaviour in with the behaviours of the address bar and bookmarks bar. It fits much more naturally into the category of Calendar controls. I appreciate this might be tricky to implement because the error was made at a design stage and would consequently need a significant rewrite, but that shows the importance of good design rather than being a justification for the current behaviour. (And besides, it feels a bit icky having to hit the mail control buttons above my bookmarks!) (Or, I suppose a workaround would be to make the position of all bars customisable. That would probably be the best solution as it might futureproof the addition of other functionality but harder(?) to implement. And would then require some decision regarding the calendar controls to be taken. So its a rock and a hard place.)

@petaqui I would report it for you, but the problem is I can’t reproduce it. I created a fresh profile on a standalone install. I connected 2 of my email accounts to it. I changed the signature of the first account to test. I switched to the second account and changed its signature to test2. I switched between both accounts and the signatures weren’t messed up.

We need to reproduce this with minimal steps from a fresh profile to report a meaningful bug. I don’t know the steps. Maybe you can try to find out more about the circumstances.

I found a similar report in the tracker, but this issue was fixed in 2019.

@dheffer You don’t need to start a new draft to edit a contact:

Click on the contact Click on the Edit pane at the bottom of the Contacts Panel to edit the contact (if the pane is not visible, look for the separator at the bottom and double-click it, or drag it up)

Alternatively:

Right-click on the contact Select Edit from the context menu

I think now that Vivaldi indeed does have a built-in notes section, it would be fantastic to be able to integrated Todoist with this. I would love Vivaldi to contain most productivity apps.

I second the "Notifications per account" request. I monitor my elderly mother's mail account, and I don't need or want to see notifications for her mail — just my own (and then only those messages that reach the Inbox).

I do not use Protonmail so have no use for it here, BUT, I do use MXROUTE for mine and they Mandate port 143 and STARTTLS for their incoming emails no exception.

@jedfrechette I use Vivaldi Mail on about five different devices. Thanks to IMAP, I don't find the lack of sync terribly problematic.

With the dashboard widgets for mail, calendars and tasks, this would be even more powerful and further interconnect Vivaldi's unique features

This is a user forum, meaning that the developers sometimes participate, but it's mostly driven by volunteers and the community. The community tries to give good feature requests visibility with a voting system, which just means to add a like to the first post of a feature request. The more likes, the more community members see value.

The devs work primarily in their internal bug tracking system. The creation of the bug report just means that there is a clear link between the tracker and the forum.

Sometimes devs will show that they are picking up on a feature request by adding a tag here on the forum such as In Progress, Pipeline and Nice to have. Our feature request isn't highly requested - enough votes that it doesn't die, but not too many to spark a lot of interest from the developers. I think it's underrated but somehow that's the case with all my feature requests 😉

Vivaldi uses an open source server application for their webmail service, it's not self developed like the browser UI and the desktop mail client (or the android and phone and car apps)

I just whant to there is checkbox in alias of mail account settings, which adds this header to all messages from this alias.

For example: I have mail account [email protected] and alias [email protected], which point to [email protected].
I add account [email protected] to vivaldi mail, also in alias tab I add alias [email protected]. At this step I need checkbox "add main address to reply-to header".
If this checkbox active - all messages from [email protected] will has header reply-to: [email protected].
This checkbox needs in alias "context".

@jbove after thinking "why not just leave the feed message unread" I kept reading and see the reason "to sync across devices".

Just another +1 here after all this time - Still can't use Viv for RSS because the organisation for me is essential with a high number of feeds. Can't jump from QuiteRSS until I can organise these things 😞

(I can't seem to access the bug tracker, so I just "Thumbs Up" on this post and similar ones, is there anything more I can do?

@rolypoly I have seen this happen a lot lately with some youtube channels I follow. They keep changing the title to try and 'game' the youtube recommendation algorithm, but that just ends up polluting the vivaldi feed reader with loads of copies of the same video. Having just a single entry per video would be preferable.

@dmkroslindale I just wanted to try saving a long message as HTML to read it on another device, and found I couldn't. This would be very welcome.
