Hi, I cant test tomorrow on my 2 display system but I guess it make no sense on Win 11.

I'd like to see Google do the same in the U.S., allowing Android users to uninstall/remove all Google apps they're not using, not simply disable them (if the app has a disable option) and without having to root the phone.

From what I have found, Yahoo supports OAuth with IMAP and SMTP, not POP.

I can see both sides of the argument. On the one hand it is frustrating to not know how long it will take to get the webmail, on the other if it had targets that could be hit it could easily be gamed, and we would potentially see a lot more bot style posts spammed on here or mastodon (or wherever the targets indicates) which would be a huge backfire IMO

@Catweazle Remember that anything on the internet is untrusted code until proven otherwise. In my view browsers should have built in ad blockers and ad networks should be more discerning. If you are an ad network you should be able to be held liable when people pay you to advertise malware and you take the money and advertise the malware. There would be no malvertising if every instance you are caught results in an automatic $5000 dollar fine per impression. Same with data breaches, if every leak is an automatic $5,000 dollar fine per person, then there will be no more data breaches and end to end encryption will be more common.

At least we know what firefox is capable of now, and I think the logs from such a use would be valuable in making firefox more reliable. Perhaps this can be used as a browser stress test where a test rig with a Zeon CPU and 2TB of Ram is automatically configured to open up thousands of tabs with javascript games, news sites, youtube videos, podcasts, blogs etc with a debug build of the browser to see how much it can handle before it goes down.

Bitdefenders Free Antivirus and Adguard Adblocker (also using their DNS) are installed.
I ran several tests: I started with both disabled, then running one and then the other:

Both off had the best and fastest results (maybe just a coincidence).

Adguard on, AV off, worked too, but it seemed to need some updating via internals to retrieve all bookmarks (or I wasn't patient enough).

Bitdefender on, Adguard off, and it was the unreliable, random mess I was used to.

So yeah, Bitdefender seems to be the culprit!
I always assumed it was just scanning newly installed apps and on-demand storage, so I never tried disabling it, as I saw no relation (no off switch, needs to be force-stopped in the app info).

Maybe doing a few more tries there with Adguard on and off, or some of its components, to check on my previous impressions.
Btw, sync-internals is super, but it crashed the mobile browser when it was open in a tab and I was then trying to access the browser's settings. No big deal, though.

I figured out what was responsible for the "sorting" related crashes.

The separators I added on Vivaldi-desktop!
Using the handy extension I have been kindly linked up with, I removed those separators.
They don't show on Vivaldi mobile, but apparently they count as bookmarks at sync-internals, the bookmark count was considerably lower afterwards.
Then, after syncing, the manual sorting was fine.

@mib2berlin Much appreciated! I just sent another crash log dump file in on it. I was on my town's website and tried to print something. Same results with no printing and tab/page frozen. I found a new crash log file right afterwards. The second time I tried the site/printing; I did try switching to a different tab, and then back and found the print dialog window sitting there this time. I won't bombard them with more crash files, etc. and will wait to see if anything else is needed.

@yojimbo274064400 both are the latest vivaldi snapshot for the given os (windows and linux). Only use vivaldi as a client. If needed I use web mail directly. One instance is set to Portuguese (PT) in UI language and the other is using English (US).

@Malakay666 Because the browser can't block popups when you click on the page, that would break web sites that use popups for legitimate uses.

Doesn't matter that you blocked popups, that only applies to page-initiated (automatic) popup.

Since you use pirate sites, these sites use all kinds of dirty tricks to circumvent adblockers and to open popups that lead you to scam websites.

There is no setting in Vivaldi to help you.
You can try installing uBlock Origin as already suggested. It is more powerful to defeat shady websites. Vivaldi's blocker is not meant for people who visit such websites.

A quick note on this. I was working on one of my custom filter lists (ABP syntax), and running into a brick wall with rules that worked when tested with other adblocker extensions. My lists had previously worked. They are just a handful of rules each. They block ads, so I added them as an ad-blocking source.

I tried a few fixes, like renaming one of them so it went near the top of the sources list, etc. No Luck. Finally, I removed it and added it under tracker blocking sources, and bingo, it worked fine. It was the same with the other list. So that's a thing.

Those builds are the 64-bit version (.x64 suffix), the 32-bit version (no suffix), and the Windows Arm64 version (.arm64 suffix). The archive list everything for the various Windows variants, and one need to know what one is going to fetch.

Also .24 is NOT the latest version (the archive does not list the latest), that is currently .26 which is downloaded from the download link (and would be downloaded and installed by the autoupdate for stable), and which automatically selects the right platform version.
