@neolock This is something ESet will have to handle on their own.

My guess is that they insert an extension into the profile of the user, but to do that they need to figure out where the profile is located, so they have to customize for each browser. That does not require any support from us, everything they need is available from the Windows Registry, they just have to look it up.

@LordLorio Private tabs must lose their data when the browser crashes - the whole point is they don't store data anywhere.

Maybe you could consider setting up a separate profile, that way you can keep your sensitive tabs away from your main tabs, and you could create a second sync account.

@Anomalocaris With 6.8.3381.53 Win 11 i tested staring by desktop shortcut with your command line parameter.
After vivaldi://restart or Restart-for-Update button in address bar the process still has the command line parameter, checked in Help → About and with Sysinternals ProcessExplorer.

@HectorB Chromium now comes with its own basic set of Root certificates (my guess is that they decided to do that after all the problems with "Is this device's OS root store able to connect to Let's Encrypt sites" as the original root expired), although it seem to also access system certs, for roots that are not in that set (and presumably have not been untrusted)

I have both of those off, but apparently there's a new checkbox called "Form Autofill Assist" that was on.

Also it's already being worked on?? Awesome!

@shadowleaf15 You guess correctly. Chromium and thus vivaldi encrypt several data with machine/user ID so is not real portable. No plans to implement that I know. Most profile folders are simply not decryptable if you plan to re-use the profile on another machine/user.

@7eggert Although there's not a feature for that in the browser at present, every time a website offers "remember me on this site." what it's doing is offering to set a durable cookie containing your username - so that whenever you return to the site, you username is pre-filled. That has much the same effect.

Yes, that's how I figured it out when I have to use other goofle resources other than "search" (Ad generator).

Though this has become less of an issue since I switched search engines. Also I rarely store anything on Gdrive or use sheets anymore.
