The users with this issue report broken session files, nothing the Vivaldi team can repair.
This can happen if the user downgrade Vivaldi, system and/or Vivaldi crash, power loss or something.
You can simply test this with rename the folder Sessions in you profile folder "Default" or create a new profile to test this.
The path to the profile is published in File > Help > About

@DoctorG Thanks! So far I'm working around it and it isn't a huge issue but it does get tedious at times. But I have found that Vivaldi otherwise runs so much faster than other browsers on that site, I hate the thought of changing.

@kestrel4 Testing extensions will go faster if you use the SimpleExtManager extension. Disable half the extensions, then half the remaining ones, and so on until you find the culprit.

Wow, so this was some type of weird new feature. I might be wrong, but I think I sometimes even saw it in 6.9. So I guess I should upgrade to 7.2 to get rid of it, but I just read it introduced new bugs to the addressbar, so no thanks. 🙄

That bug was already reported. Tab switching could help some users.

@JigSaW3xD 100% is the default scaling so shouldn't matter.

But I just tested launching Vivaldi with:
vivaldi.exe --force-device-scale-factor=1.0
And turns out the bug is still present, so probably is more complicated. Might be something else or a combination of factors.

In any case, the bug report exists, hopefully it will get looked at soon.

I agree too but it is a big difference you test with 1000 user or with 3 millions.
In all our tests before the 7.2 release nobody had this panel issue and I still cant reproduce it with all my 12 Vivaldi installs.
Chromium pushed a security patch, serious, so we will get a new update soon.

I just started to experience this as well starting with the latest version for me [7.2.3621.67 (Stable channel) (64-bit)]. If I type something like "this is a test" it will only search for "this is a." It will also cut off words in the middle.
