@DoctorG I will know it next time ..... I reinstalled Vivaldi but have to restore many things. I never had this (severe) issue before in a year on this pc..... But I have experienced many, many, very many oddities with MS since windows 3.1 so it can never be as desastrous (always look at the bright side of pc's and softwares oh, and life of course).

@Rohan77 , I started this thread after seeing what you also reported.
It is important to finding a cause/solution that you see this on other browsers and not just on vivaldi.

This fact eliminates browsers and extensions and says it is a youtube problem.

@Der_Pit I do not know how the Zoom desktop program do login and run xdg-open.

I remember from last year ztah Zoom program always had some login issues.
I can not test. Missing program to access Zoom meetings on Linux.

@HumanNo1 I can confirm this occurring on openSUSE Tumbleweed, using KDE Plasma 6. Installing Chromium and leaving it, Vivaldi and Firefox open, then logging out and logging back in, only Firefox launched automatically.

Since Chromium also did not automatically relaunch, I suspect this is upstream with Chromium and not an actual bug in Vivaldi, but it's quite possible that this behavior is by design.

In any event, I submitted a report (VB-108269) and referenced this thread.

@hornetster GMail uses a super non standard way of flagging emails, by not doing it. Instead of archiving email like everyone else, GMail seems to treat emails as Archived or not depending on whether or not they are in the inbox folder or not. Check the all messages - received view if you find your email there. I ignore the Gmail folder structure.

@hornetster Make a new folder, set it as bookmark bar folder, delete the folder. Afterwards it defaults to top level.

Ended up installing QR Scanner from Flatpak.
Seems to do it all: read from files/screenshot/generates QR.
Also installed QRCode Reader extension in Vivaldi.

I have tried the ozone-platform=wayland flag in the past and had mixed results. I no longer use it.

I did it a lot accidentally. I used this workaround from another user to disable dragging while awaiting a fix:

It also worked for me up until recently. I will ask on the OpenSUSE mailing list and see what people say.

Yes, that worked in old Vivaldi.6.6.3271.61 Stable.

The use of flags, is not officially supported by Vivaldi.

From other posts on the Forum, some flags work in certain cases, and some do not.

Try Debian Stable: It is the most stable distribution and the least likely to face serious bugs (dealing with bugs when learning Linux is a nightmare!).
Or try a Debian Stable based distro, as Q4OS or LMDE, but you may face some additional bugs.
And use KDE: it is more friendly for windows users.
