Run it and when it crashes look for crash reports from today like so

find "${XDG_CONFIG_HOME:-$HOME/.config}/vivaldi/Crash Reports" "/tmp/TESTVIV/Crash Reports" -type f -name '*.dmp' -exec ls -l {} \;

Then go to https://vivaldi.com/bugreport/ and log a bug report and attach the crash. You can ping us here with the bug number and we can look at it.

@DoctorGTesting,@Pathduck , After several more attempts to get the Vivaldi instance on my Android device synced to my new Linux laptop, it finally works! I got an account credentials verification sent to my recovery email, confirming my username. I made sure the tablet was open and Vivaldi sync was active. I uninstalled the Vivaldi app on the new laptop and reinstalled it. I opened the browser and skipped through the welcome pages until I came to a login button. I went to sync settings and chose to sync all data. I was immediately shown that downloads and uploads were synced. Now, on the homepage, clicking on the sidebar icons shows my entries from the other computers. I don't know what I did this time that was different. I thought this was what I did before. I guess that since the only other devices I have that are still working are mobiles, all my feed subscriptions are gone, but other than that everything seems to be working. Thank you for your replies.

Hi, the problem with the Chrome extensions is the developers don't test on Vivaldi.
For a quick test you can start Vivaldi from a terminal with --disable-extensions, it keep all extensions from loading.
If this work you can be sure it is one.
For so many extensions I would start with disabling 10 and test.
If it doesn't change anythingit is one of the other 10, disable 5 and so forth.

Makes one wonder if that's down to Vivaldi's Chromium base, where their hands are seemingly tied, or whether it is something they'd have pushed users to 'accept' even if these were still the Presto days, when they had it all under their own control.
Google Manifest v3 / webrequest API is another bitter pill, coming into full effect this summer, IIRC. Well, the times up to v12.15 (v12.18) were great, after that, for the most part, many upsides and relatively few downsides. The only unchanging thing? Change itself.

It's possibly moot, as I didn't get Vivaldi to work in Hyprland, anyway--but perhaps the environment variable would have worked better.

Looks like you picked DDG for private browsing. Can't be too sure because your screenshot doesn't show the actual selected engines, but in the list below DDG has the "PRIVATE" tag, so that leads me to believe that.

wiktionary and cnn money widget scrollbars stopped working with Vivaldi 7.3.3635.7 (Stable channel).

I am running 7.2.3621.67 (Stable channel) stable (64-bit) now where they work. I don't have time to go up to 7.3.3635.7 (Stable channel) to test the suggested command line start.
Perhaps, tonight I can give it a try.
