Some of these ideas are great.
I agree it should work similarly to the dropdown menu. However, I don't think it needs to be a separate panel.
We just need a way to view less clutter.

Ideally, a few simple enhancements would suffice.
a) an option to right-click to minimise other workspaces, leaving only the current one open at the top.
b) an option to drag and rearrange workspaces 😎

@jfarque good suggestion, it's a bit like the indicator for web notifications! This gets my vote.

My habit is to always have the mail panels open. The screen width is always enough for webpages, so the panel allows me to keep an eye on all filters at all times

I've just begun using Vivaldi, and I discovered this post while searching for a way to do this. I'd love to see this feature added.

@bariton Thanks for that workaround suggestion. Very straight forward. Another workaround was suggested to me here, using emojis.

Neither are as useful as an actual index, as in an <ol> element. In an <ol> the numbers actually reconfigure automatically if you remove one item from the list. With the workarounds, I need to go back and reconfigure each workspace when I delete any one of the numbered workspaces.

I think it can be done with the current desktop version (6.7.3329.24 (Stable channel) (64-bit))

Open the Appearance in settings Under the Menu group, select Tab as Menu Customization Select Move Tab menu Right click on[All Workspace Destination] (as Subfolder)
