It's interesting that you recommend vivaldi:settings/privacy/ instead of chrome:settings/content/siteData.

While these two options look similar, I've found Vivaldi's syntax for whitelisting to be too limited. The main problem for me was the following:

Vivaldi forces users to avoid regex in domains. You can imagine how many subdomains a user has to add, for example, to make Google core services work.

Instead, chromium encourages the use of regex:

So most of google services cookies domains can be described with one line.

Are there some reasons to stick with Vivaldi settings?

Blocking shorts and reels can really help break the doomscrolling habit. Tools like browser extensions or screen time limits are useful for this. I’ve also found that taking digital detoxes, like those offered at places like Argan-Albidaa-Resort.Com, can really reset your habits. What methods have you all used to cut down on doomscrolling?

@far4 TextPad is REALLY basic, that's for sure😆 For what I need to do it has been good enough so far. Sometimes I use the Text editor built into TotalCommander too. No clue if it can handle large texts but it's there and sometimes a convenient method...

@aqqlqlql You can somewhat workaround this moving the default lists (albeit you can't truly act at list level).

Disable all the built-in lists (you can't move between tracker and ads section. Also can't be imported or removed).

If you want to keep them in the same block, you can skip the disable step. But the swap is suggested.

You need a mirror url - actually the original list url - to add them back where you want.

The import might throw some error. That's fine, not all the rules are supported (yet)

Sadly, a mirror of vivaldi partners list doesn't exist 😛

Then just keep the not aggressive lists in the tracker blocking -- for example the basic easylist and the unbreak lists - plus maybe the antiadblocker lists (lowest chance of breaking things)

and move the more aggressive lists in the adblocker list -- for example cookie warning blocker and annoyance/privacy/social blockers and the tracker lists (which are prone to break sites)

This way you can have a basic blocking ( tracker only ) or a powerful blocking ( tracker and ads ) per site.

I think there is no need to worry, because I imagine that the team is developing a total reengineering of the adblocker, taking the best of each of the existing extensions.

Vivaldi already have a basic view, but only after adding a custom list one time.

@electryon, anyway I don't think that Mv3 will change much in a simple Userscript Manager. It is a simple app of a few KB, in essence just a container for the scripts you put in and these are outside the influence of Google.
