@Gneno I think cookie monster could be a good solution to check for (I guess will allow essential cookies by default).

In past I used i don't care about cookies (remove the screen) and consent-o-matic (allow part of cookies) but both have issues on some page (especially complex news sites).

The whole cookie matter is an huge mess as fiddling with the screen will likely break the site

@jjlalarconus Please read the original topic again. The ugly puzzle icon is the extension toggle. As soon as one or more extension buttons are hidden, it appears and gives you a way to show/toggle hidden extensions. All your reinstall does is show extension buttons, which you could do with a right‐click on the extension icons. Your solution is overkill.

One more thing: The icon depends on the icon theme in use. Different themes use different icons and you can choose an icon theme independent from your current theme. For example I use the Minimal Feather icon theme and my extension toggle looks like this:

@Hadden89 And if the extension is arranged in a good position, turning it on or off again will disrupt the custom sorting icon

Chrome Web Store button "Add to Chrome" is back!

@digfish Problem solved ! Just use chrome.tabs.onUpdated instead of chrome.WebRequested.onCompleted ! It gives the main page URL and the tab id, all that I just need ! Don't need to mess with WebRequest anymore !

@Hadden89 Seems there was something bugged for me with that extension after updating it cuz it just wouldn't open if I clicked on it from the extension icon. But I reinstalled it and it's working now.

But the side panel is still getting blocked, and the other 2 extensions are as well. I had assumed getting blocked by Vivaldi was intentional and didn't consider it could've been a bug. Regardless, it would be nice for a fix either way.

I don't often post in any forums but this bothered me enough to. But with some side projects/tools I've been messing with I have less need for the HLS streamers and the more important one seems to be working now so I'm grateful your response was able to help me fix that.

Edit:
The video downloadhelper seems to have broken again, and I read the recent comments on it so that extension just seems to be bugged after their last update and that's on them, not Vivaldi.

The buttons in Gmail, Yahoo and so forth a working now and all reports are closed as fixed.
VB-105791 is not.
