@Millman
First things first, if you think someone unauthorized has accessed your account, change the password immediately.
Secondly, when you select "Will's address book" and click on the â‹® 3 dots above the list of address books, is an option to delete it available in the menu?
@themike, thanks for the additional information.
I tested and can reproduce the issue. We'll do our best to fix it as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience. 🙂
Ok, I've found the said option, it's called "time zone" inside settings>interface (or something like that 😅), it was marked as "automatic" so I changed it to the correct zone. Question resolved!! 🫶
Just providing my two cents as a newbie user.
It is not apparent from the email account request page that a new reputation point system for email provisioning is in place. After several head-scratches, I stumbled upon the change in webmail provisioning in the News section.
You might want to put an asterick (*) on https://vivaldi.com/email-signup/ under the Free account box to let users know about the reputation point system.
Just a suggestion from a user new to the Vivaldi experience....
@DoctorG, to reproduce login to webmail and another of Vivaldi's services, logout of one and then the other to see issue, for example:
sign into Vivaldi Forum
either in the same tab or a new tab go to Vivaldi Webmail, select Login and then logout
if in previous step:
the same tab was used, then go to Vivaldi Forum and logout
a new tab was used, then close tab and logout of Vivaldi Forum
an OAuth Processing Error Message should be seen
@steiroterje Vivaldi mail address is a community service, you can not compare to other "free" mail services.
Yes, you have to wait until your reputation points are high enough and you have made posts in forum.
Sorry for you, but this is a protection against spammers who were abusing Vivaldi mail services in the past.
@jrkl The doubt was legit... In the worst case the team can solve a wrongly unverified account, but I don't think will happen at all for active forum users which already have the webmail in usage.
One scenario which could trigger the unverified could be: an user registered one year ago to all services but never posted or used any of them (forum, sync, blog, mail...)
@takaishi97 Webmail and Vivaldi Mail are not comparable/interchangeable things. One will never replace the other.
That said, the change in how to qualify for Webmail was made to retain security from spammers (who are legion) and let real community members use the service. Numerous people objected to requiring a cell phone number because they didn't have one, or because they imagined that giving the number to Vivaldi would breach their privacy, so a reputation standard was developed instead.
@Bentus said in Lost access to Mail:
@thomasp I don't know about app passwords, I never had to use those before. I have tried making one, but I don't understand how to input it in webmail.vivaldi.net.
Ok, if you're talking about webmail.vivaldi.net login, then what I wrote is not relevant to you (that advice only applied if you were using a mail client).
Please contact the support team with details of the mail account you are having trouble accessing. To do this, go to https://help.vivaldi.com/services/webmail/troubleshooting-webmail-issues/ and click the Send us a message button near the bottom of the page.
@paul1149 Yes, it adapts to the viewport. You can easily see this by just zooming in and out 🙂
If your screen size is small then yes, you might only see two columns. Or even one, on mobile for instance.
Glad to help 🙂
