@KSB @andyflet Uptodown is an official repo of Vivaldi, if I recall correctly.
@Catweazle Almost any store is safe. The repos people add can be harmful (this is especially true for Aptoide) or illegal.
F-Droid also accept non FOSS app although not by default (but an official repo would be less useful, then).
Do we have any news on this? I have raised a "bug" since months on 1password forums, but it seems to me it is a vivaldi bug... This is the reason I am still using chrome on android...
@AngellaMae
Here is a thread on the issue that instead of displaying web pages the error "Aw, Snap!" is shown by Vivaldi on Android. In my reply I mentioned a solution found on a web page, which did NOT solve the issue for me, but maybe it is helpful for you.
@GrumpyKoala007
I have this issue with Vivaldi running in an Android emulator. It prevents me from loading any web page with Vivaldi on this device, even the startpage cannot be shown (but syncing of notes is working).
Here someone suggest to fix this error for Chrome browser as follows: "Go to the Privacy section and uncheck >Use a prediction service to load pages more quickly<". After this the browser has to be restarted.
Since AFAIK Vivaldi (as Opera and Edge) for Android is based on Chrome, I thought this might fix the issue for Vivaldi, but it did NOT solve my issue. However, my usage of Vivaldi in an emulator instance is a bit special, so it might be worthwhile to try out to disable this option in a Vivaldi installed on a real device:
Further, the above mentioned post also gives some other hints on how to solve this issue.
I know you guys can write, but can you read? I only use a single speed dial on the Android and not using speed dial on the desk or laptop. Thanks for the offers but I am closing this thread from my end.
@abdellahb
Hi, page is really heavy but I test on Chrome and it is 5 times faster there, so something is wrong with Vivaldi.
It does not crash Vivaldi but it is really slow.
I would make a bug report to check from a developer.

Cheers, mib
EDIT: If you disable Vivaldi addblocker, Vivaldi is on par with Chrome.
The page is simply slow, on my Laptop (i7 8 GB) the fans turn up using this page.
On my phone I find the lower bar irritating, I never use it, so I find myself using Bromite more often.
I am forced to use Firefox because of Vivaldi UI.
Yeah, reader mode is an afterthought in Vivaldi, don’t think much work has gone into it yet. On certain pages you can use page actions and activate the sepia filter. This is obviously no substitute for reader mode, but it can help.
Im having the same issue. I do not see the "other bookmarks" folder, and when pressing back on bookmarks page you cannot navigate back to bookmarks unless closing the window and opening the bookmarks.
Small shortcomings like this stops people from switching to other browsers like Vivaldi.
@LucioVivaldi
That URL used to work for me until a couple of months ago, when it started to return a 404, even though there was still a link to it in the top toolbar, but eventually, even that one disappeared right around the time the new design of the full mobile page got activated for me. So I'd wager it's just a matter of time until those changes get rolled out for everyone.
@DrGregory same instruction. If you open the version page from menu > help > about, it has a profile path. Go to that location in a file explorer and you can find a file called "notes".
You don't need to be "rooted" on desktop, you can access it directly.
