Solved Rearrange Mail Accounts in list

I happen to personally know many of the personnel involved, I have followed the progress of the project from Jan. 2015, physically visited with about half the team in person, and test the product and confab with the devs behind the scenes (not just mod in the forum). So I get my impressions from close personal contact.
And I get my expectations from what I need daily to use it to pursue my profession. Clearly, your expectations are different and that's fine. Neither your opinions nor mine represent absolute, immutable values. So you do you, and Vivaldi will do Vivaldi. And that's kewl. Win-win.

@kelleychambers Mine are ordered: aimwell.org, ntlworld.com, vivaldi.net. That looks like alphabetical order to me.

I also thought it was by order of adding accounts for the longest time and after reading this I thought "Eureka, now I can easily get my two offline accounts to the bottom of the list" by just renaming the usernames to "y" and "z", respectively sucht that they get my wildente@.... account. But they stay right up there also after restarting Vivaldi.
I figure that if there IS some sort of sorting algorithm by user name, maybe it's not that easy to change it to free sorting. But with my very limited programming experience I think it should be fairly straightforward to change the sorting parameter from username to account name (account naming was added not too early in the development process)
Is there a feature wish / bug report for this?

Vote for Sort Email Account Order.
It currently has only 12 votes, so apparently most users don't care much.
I just upvoted it, but it makes no difference to me. I just use the received view, where all new emails arrive from the accounts that are actively in use.

@Hadden89 "would be nice". Well, it's a must for someone with many email accounts that want to have it optimized.
Frankly I am stunned that it's not yet implemented.
I'm not that kind of guy that is hanging around on forums and I bet that most does not, therefore the Vivaldi team doesn't get to know how many actually are lacking this "feature". I am sure there are many that does.
Many move to the previous or other mail clients because of this. I just tried it out, like it. But if this doesn't get implemented in the near future I'll stick with Apple Mail where I also can create my own folders and move important (not email address specific) mails to them that I want to be able to read whenever I want. For instance I have a folder named "guitar" with reciepts of guitar parts I bought since 1996 stored in that folder. I have loads of different folders made simular to the guitar reciept folder. Very handy.
Yes I like to organize manually to have complete control over my stored emails. Done this since I entered internet in 1989. And no, it does not work to search for the word guitar as most of the emails with bought parts has not the work guitar in them, so I sort them manually when they're received. -

There is a sorting algorithm, and the sorting is on the only thing a user can not control. The sorting is alphabetically on MAIL ADDRESS!
Go figure. Selecting any other sort criteria would have been better.
I'm really impressed by the features and functionalities of the Vivaldi browser and mail client. All honor to the developers!
But this little "flunk" is really annoying.
I realize that the mail address is the only rasonable mandatory data to sort on as both sender name and account name are optional in the config.
But, a few lines of conditional testing, is it too much to ask for? -

I'm only able to have my 8 most important accounts in Vivaldi, the rest are still left in Outlook. Kind of annoying.
Not impossible to live with, the rest of Vivaldi makes it worth it, but it is a daily annoyance!

While I fully understand that you want to rearrange the account order - so do I - how does this relate to not being able to have some of your accounts in Vivaldi?

The important accounts in themselves do have a priority order to me, as it is now I cannot put them in priority order.
It is also critical to keep track of from which account the mail I'm handling belongs.
If I to that should add some ten more accounts that I need to have but do not handle more than occasionally, "accidents" would be hard to avoid.
I'm getting used to having the informational mail accounts in a separate client. It actually a practical solution.
But the missing priority order is a small but frequent annoyance. -
@EerVideONet ah. OK that is a usecase I didn't think of (and I'd hazard the guess that it is an unusual one). Anyway, apart from separation of context via sorting order, maybe you could make user profiles work to your advantage. Working with and switching between many different accounts has the inherent risk of drafting a new email using the "wrong" email address and mixing contacts (which Vivaldi has yet to improve on)

I believe the usecase is fairly common. Handling different aspects of support for a handful of systems at a small software company.
The concept of Vivaldi is perfect for this. Stay in one window and just switch tabs between mail, teams-metings, editor, documents etc.
The User profile tip was good, I hadn't thought about that, thank you! It makes it possible to stay in Vivaldi by switching between one "Important" user and one "Informational".
Unfortunately I cannot have one user for each important mail account as I need to see the mail flow continously.
But one cannot get everything and at least you helped me find a way to ditch Outlook! -

True, but they can gauge the support for a feature by looking at the number of votes.
With 36 votes after three years, this one is significant, but still way down the list of about 5,000 requests.

@kelleychambers Hey I've been using Opera since the beginning ( or at least version 3 I think ). Opera was light-weight and an all-in-one package. It was the first browser to introduce tabs, speed dial, built-in spell check, ad blockers, and heaps more. It was the most innovative browser out there. It wasn't about marketing and becoming a huge browser, it was about being a browser that did the job.
The Vivaldi we have today comes from the same minds, and has the same mindset. The community is huge, and the developers listen. If enough people want something changed or added, it will happen. And because the email client is built into the browser, it means the same thing in regards to changes.
I nearly gave up waiting for the email client to be released, and when it did I used it for a short while then went back to Thunderbird, because there were many features I needed that weren't available ... yet.
Eventually the issues were ironed out and the features like drag and dropping email were added.
This all comes from the community asking for features, or pointing out issues.So I'm back again, using the built in email client. And I'm here today, wondering about the same thing as you. How to set the order of email accounts. Also disappointed that there is no way, but I know that it will eventually be done, and I feel that the email client as-is does a better job than any other browser-email client combo!

I feel like I'm a bit late to the party, but while I only have a few accounts under "All accounts", I'm surprised that this is still a thing we can't adjust.
The drag & drop works easily enough in the panel with the ctrl drag thing, so why can't that happen for the accounts?

It's implemented in house. Will go out in snapshot after the next release (didn't want to take it this time). You'd reorder them in settings.
