The technical preview of Vivaldi's built in mail client has been released as an experiment in the Snapshot version of the browser. To start using the mail client:
Make sure you have the latest Snapshot version of the browser. Consider installing it as a Standalone, if so far you've only used the Stable version of Vivaldi.
Go to vivaldi://experiments and enable Calendar, Mail & Feeds.
I installed the latest snapshot - no difference (tho my bug id wasn't on the list, so wasn't really expecting any).. Since I wanted to try Mail anyway, I emptied my spam folder (that's the one that was erroring on threading), and unsubbed from all the rest.
In order to make things work, I had to not only delete the mail account, but also the entire profile (Default dir) - good job it was using --test.
If the mail account is deleted, and then reset up, email is loaded+indexed, but the Received/Unread/INBOX etc folders appear empty.. any idea why that is? It only showed up after I deleted the profile and retried - seems deleting the mail account (inc. deleting messages) doesn't get rid of all the mail data?
I uninstalled and deleted all of my browsing data, then I reinstalled, and so far, that seems to have fixed the problem. I'll have to shut down the browser a few times and see if the problem pops back up, but this may have fixed things.
Hello,
having the same issue.
Writing a new message, the signature is correct with different lines and spaces.
When replying, it all gets wrapped in a single line.
I am running version 3.5.2115.87 and Windows
@Ayespy maybe is worth looking into it, thanks
@ltgorm
Hi Thanks for the good info on the location of the mail client config .Would like to configure a non encrypted IMAP server on port 143. Any idea how this can be done?
TIA

Add a new account
Type your Gmail email address
Enter the login password
With luck, Vivaldi mail client will set thing up for you automatically.
@DinakarKotha said in How can I create a folder and add a filter to it?:
First is there an option to create folders in mail client?
Not yet, only via webclient atm. But is planned (which is the reason no one asked for it).
if yes
can we add a filter to it ( not adding a filter in the filter
section) and make it look like
Folder
Sub-folder
{contains all the mails placed by filter}

(I think you mean something like Thunderbird filters. We are far from that).
This is actually a different approach ("folderless") following the current M3 "layout".

@Ayespy If you want to add the google calendar, it asks for outh2, which for now does not work.
This in the mail was solved with authorization with passwd, thus solving the authentication in the gmail accounts until the outh2 issue is solved, but that characteristic has not been added to the google calendar
@greybeard Not sure but I do not see why it should require you to move that mail.
I filed a bug, it is VB-75969.
Unfortunately I do not know when or why it happens :-(.
