Colour coding? I'm not a strong supporter of this.
A small (but significant) proportion of males has some form and degree of non-standard colour perception so I'd suggest colour should not be used as the sole conveyor of information.
Colour can be used effectively for many reasons but the information content must be available to the 'colour blind'. I'd prefer initially evaluating a design decision in monochrome rather than, by default, turning to colour to uniquely convey info.
I have a similar issue. Everytime Vivaldi tries to fetch mails, it asks me to login to my hotmail account and authorise Vivaldi. Every time, even if I constantly authorise it and it's authorised in the Account Settings from Microsoft.
@WildEnte Well I appreciate all the hard works and all the saints but the issue here is not what needs to be developed further, but rather to let the user set up his own security. I am leaving now this party because the drink offered here to me was consumed at once by someone else. Cheers!
I have filed this as VB-89389
When the target account for moving the email is an online account, things seem to work out ok. But when the target account is an offline account, I was not able to properly move the email: in the Vivaldi mail client (which we like to call M3 here) the mail correctly appears in the email list of the offline account.
But the message body is missing ("Account is offline, unable to fetch message body"), and checking the web interface of the original (source) account, the email is still there. So it seems that Vivaldi realizes that it cannot upload the moved message to the offline account and kind of gives up.
Interesting, I can see in in filters (but it does not seem to work as intended). I am on 5.2 stable. Is this filled as a bug? Does not seem it could be intentional.
This (filters running forever) happened to me too. I triggered it by moving 20k messages from one account to another via Thunderbird (its GUI is intimidating but man, can it do stuff!) while also being connected to those mail accounts through Vivaldi. I managed to stop it be deleting "Storage/ext/mpognobbkildjkofajifpdfhcoklimli", which was not enough, so I bisected my Preferences file and found out (using this: https://jsonformatter.org/json-viewer ) that I needed to remove extensions>settings>mpognobbkildjkofajifpdfhcoklimli (I lost my filters though). I am on 5.2, so maybe my issue is not what was fixed above.
@Ja27CS2g This is a known bug related only to GMail accounts in the Vivaldi Mail client. It has been extremely resistant to correction, due to the non-standard way GMail tags and handles deleted email. Mail developers are aware of it and working on it.
@WildEnte Oh, I've little doubt it's Mac-specific... No, I didn't see a progress bar (or some such indication) during the M3 "import" — I've got to put the problem aside for a while: I'll be traveling...

@Ayespy
hi a'
yeah, they seem evil but their browser is supposed to be very secure closely followed by Google (one of my other email accts). some of the funkier crew are ordinary when it comes to security but hey, my mum got ransomed the other day looking at news headlines via Microsoft, so go figure!
Vivaldi is great as a centralised system and all those trackers its blocks --- sweet! but wots its reputation regarding security compromises? since Ukraine Kaspersky's out so I'll keep BitDefender which should keep my viva as safe as can be, right?

@FManthey
Hi, do you have running AVAST or other AV software?
After an update of Vivaldi I could not add any mail account anymore running AVAST software on a friends PC.
Had to disable it and fine.
Cheers, mib
