@kjsnd You have to tell manually how to do a check on the question, you ask me. : ) I'm not in a cognito state in the browser. Every time, I enter a new site and get asked about cookies, I generally only turn necesary, functionality, preference and performance on.

@christiankno Check that the tabs have not become pinned without you noticing.

To anybody reading, disable your adblocker, for me UBlock Origin was causing the issue for some reason.
If that doesn't work, restart vivaldi maybe, that worked temporarily but not much more than that.

Has anyone already reported this problem as a bug?

No, that's not true. I have used Brave for many years and have had its DNS settings to customized, and it works.

I have also customized the DNS settings in my computer's network settings and that works too.

While we are waiting another 10 years for them to fix that, I have found another solution, in addition to rather clunky workaround with "expand all".

It is Bookmark Sidebar extension, that I am using for Chrome, because it does not have its own bookmark sidebar.

It has the required functionality - you just right click on bookmark and select "Show in folder". It will navigate you to correct place in bookmarks tree.

You can configure this addon to show in Vivaldi sidebar, and use instead of native bookmark sidebar.

It has another drawback though: I use drag & drop of URL address / website tab onto sidebar pane to add bookmarks, and Vivaldi does allow this only for its native bookmarks sidebar, not for extensions, thus this convenient way of adding bookmarks will not work with addon.

I end up using both of them:

When I need to do search - extensions works perfectly When I'm adding bookmarks - I use native bookmark sidebar

I was sure, that version does not matter, because this bug was there for years.

I have updated and testing it - so far looks good, can't believe they have finally fixed that, I have a strong feeling it will return again ; D

@gPassetti I do not remember correct when, but there was a issue with syncing history between devices.
I do not test import and sync of history much.

This also does not work for me. (Now almost four years later...)

I just reset the settings and still it doesn't work.

Vivaldi seems to focus more on new features rather than stability. Just lots of bugs.
