Hi 2025 and the problem still exist.

I have the same issue as above with registering and using Wilder security forums.

I tried back in 2023, then 2024 and 2025 and same issue, tried using clear IP address and also mobile phone with no VPNs.

Tried 3-4 different email accounts etc etc

Tried emailing the admin or asking members on there, but all my post get auto deleted and marked as spam.

I just gave up in the end, so I am glad I am not the only one.

The way I see it if they do not want useful help/info for their Community, it is their loss.

Has anyone seen where users are moving next? I wonder if the high frequency of forum-takedowns in the past ~two years will lead to a consolidation of activities in a select few bullet-proof forums that end up being too hard to take down (such as Exploit or XSS maybe).

I tried here, created a couple rules that seemed to work but then it came back.

etc... they seem to just randomize the classes or something, it's something these sites do a lot, create random class names to defeat adblockers.

Stop using eBay would be a solution of course 🙂

@mib2berlin I used the command line "sudo dnf update vivaldi" in the terminal (on Fedora, Linux) finally, rather than the dnf updater frontend software, and succeeded. Now the credit union allowed me to sign in again. Thanks. I was worried I had a virus or something.

Out of interest I'm assuming what happened here was that Vivaldi tech types blocked the potential danger, whereas other browsers didn't(?) Impressive!

@3dvs, yes, but luckily always a lot of devs releasing things to show the middle finger to these companies, it's a continuos battle since years.

@Dr-Flay, cheap mobiles, like mine, don't have much sensors, only movement horizontal/vertical use. Apart this, I don't use Facebook, X or any other of these crappy companies. Access permission to camara and mic only by the FOSS apps which I use for these instead of the inbuild ones.

I have 4 websites that auto-load on startup, 3 of which remember me because of cookies. The 4th I have to log in manually. All of them showed the same "blocking is inactive" message but only 1 listed that anything was actually blocked, the rest said 0 were blocked (one of those webpages is Yahoo, you know for sure their website is jammed packed with trackers so there should have been something blocked). All the filter lists were already up to date, but I unchecked each and then checked them again to be sure there weren't issues refreshing. None of them showed any type of error.

Every so often, after updating Vivaldi, I try the ad/tracker blocking again to see if it's been fixed yet. I start my testing with trackers only, that's what I did this time as well. I've done the same thing dozens of times over the past few months, but I've never seen that particular message before.

@lfisk I guess it could've been malware on the system.
Or a malicious extension, but then that'd have to be installed in every browser, which would be weird. Malware could do that of course.

That's why a screenshot could've been able to shed some light what was going on.

The DDG extension itself classifies as "mostly useless" - it does add itself as a search engine, but they've not gone as far as making it take over web browsing (for now at least).

As for Service Workers, they're quite limited as what they can do, mostly abused to serve push notification spam is my experience.
