You're worried that these pathetic 2 stripes won't be visible.
An all-white video is a rarity. This is not a reason to dark absolutely ALL videos in the world, for the sake of rare "white" videos.
There are a sufficient number of players that are not molded into the center of the control button screen at all.
Stop taking on a general education mission - to teach the basics of the Internet from the early 90s, when the first video hosting services were born. And people just didn't know where to press for a pause.
It's already passed 30 years, Vivaldi, relax!
Let me watch the video simply , without additional training.

@Pardus That looks like a good solution for those on a slow connection, or who pay for bandwidth. I did not realise that audio-only streams were available.

At one point, Vivaldi used to overheat my CPU and cause a hard reboot if I was playing high-resolution video (1024p), which is full resolution on my 1920x1280 landscape monitor. I solved that by setting my default to 480p.

For most videos the lower quality hardly matters. Now, I can play at full resolution without issues, but I just use the lower setting to save electricity and the planet. If I want to watch a nature program like Cheetahs I temporarily switch the quality up to 1024p.

@jclack It is a Chrome plugin, so there is nothing that Vivaldi can do to change the behaviour.

AFAICT, on my Win10 machine, Chrome and Vivaldi's PDF view and print dialogs look exactly the same.

Edge is different, not displaying a sidebar with pages (like the two others), but can show an list of chapters in a sidebar that pops up from the left, and the Print dialog has a different layout.

My guess is that the Edge devs have customized their PDF display and print dialog (most of the dialogs are generated by HTML and JS documents in the Chromium source; we have done that ourselves for the about page) and is maintaining those on their own (and they probably have all the developers needed for doing that). It could be that they are following some MS specific design rules.

Looks like fixed, but the speaker name "Mute tab" doesn't fit very well, "Mute/unmute workspace" is better.

Thanks for explaining. I understand that Vivaldi depends on Chromium. Hopefully, they add it soon.
For now, I'll keep using online tools like JPEG Compressor to make images smaller.

@RishitBhardwaj The easy way is to open the YouTube fullscreen video in a new window, then use Alt+Tab to switch windows, not tabs.

Oh. Thought since it's an addition or missing config and not a bug, it's a feature request. Thanks for the hint into the correct direction. 🙂
