As for now, you can set keyboard shortcuts to quickly mute all other tabs than the currently active one, and unmute all tabs, so it's just a matter of learning to press a key whenever you need it.
You can certainly set keyboard shortcuts or mouse gestures to unmute all tabs.
But it doesn't work if there are more than one windows open. When I play spotify in one window and I have sound going on in another window, spotify stays muted. Doesn't matter if I try via mouse gestures or keyboard shortcut. I have to open the window with the spotify tab in order to get the gestures/shortcuts to work.
As I said before, if the devs just didn't fuck around with the Prioritize Active Tab all of those issues would be resolved.
I mean, the option even implies some sort of ranking order in which sound is muted/played, not just a simple on/off.
