@krojack If the window is maximised, there is no problem as one can simply click on the very top of the tab, which has infinite height. Make sure that you have enabled this checkbox in Settings, Tabs, Tab Display:

If you don't use maximise windows, then I agree that it is difficult to point and click accurately.

Wider Pinned Tabs might be another solution to this problem.

I can't find the "renitent" button. I installed all extensions, that were installed on the wrong instance of Vivaldi. But Youzeek works. (Although breaks playing frequently.)

But I detected an other problem with extensions.

I use Extension toggle to hide the hidden buttons in the earlier installed instance. The showed buttons are out of the Extension toggle.

But if I install clean the same build, and import the same extensions, and I activate the Extension toggle, then I can't show the buttons. In the clean installed instance I haven't right click menu item as Show button/Hide button. All extension are hidden, and I can pack and unpack only the all extensions together.

End of this post. I don't want to express my opinion and ideas here anymore since I am a retard to most. Thanks for the support from the few.

@sheponion i'm using your code and it is perfect. This should be the default setting in Vivaldi or at least have the option to choose it.

I came here to request this. Good it's not only me having this problem.
I have like ~50 tabs opened, on one of them there is playing some music (youtube or others) and then if I want to stop it, it's very hard to find this small black speaker icon. I want it to be big, bright orange/yellow. If it pulsates it's even better!

A bump for your topic and report of similar problem in google hangouts: the microphone is muted. The icons for Mute, Hang up and Show settings are invisible but labels appear on mouseover. Those functions seem to work; many combinations of settings tried (mute/unmute of course) but mic remains muted 😞 Microphone works fine in e.g. audacity.

Edit: the invisible buttons was caused by either uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger :oops: but disabling them did not solve microphone problem.

Edit: Weird, mic now works here in g-phone with settings I had tried before: Vivaldi microphone=ask; g-phone microphone=built in analog stereo. 🙄 Not necessary to disable extensions.

@S_Paternotte Windows update sometimes offer faulty/older drivers. Always better get them from the site, as you actually did 😉

The android smartphone has a similar feature: When it's playing music, the usual set of buttons (previous song, stop, next song) is displayed on the lock screen and on the notification bar (I don't know what it's called).

On the web browser, I'm often annoyed by how cumbersome it is to stop the sound from a tab when I have many tabs:

Brows the tabbar to determine which tab is making the sound. Activate the tab and hit the stop button.

You could say that I could hit the loud-speaker icon on the tab instead of step 2, but that would just shut the sound up without stopping the playing, which wastes some CPU resource.

@zdm Unfortunately, you can't set this as a default style.

You could add it to it's own file under resources/vivaldi/user_files, then every time you come across this, open page actions and turn it on.
