Built-in music playback panel.

That's feasible, but it's really not. Vivaldi is not an audio player, it's a browser. You can of course play audio through webpages, which you can load in the panel, but accessing and playing audio from your hard drive properly, would require an insane amount of work and dedication, especially because audio is handled differently on all operating systems and has so many formats and qualities.

@luetage I know perfectly well that Vivaldi is not a music player, but I meant the same option as the notes, i.e. optional but included in Vivaldi. You can also say no to notes in favor of google keep which you can play as a website but it's always nice to have it built into the browser that we use most often. And I know such people who prefer to have music in their own format and not imposed by e.g. Spotify.

@MattSolo45 You can't compare your request to text saving, if anything you could compare it to the upcoming mail feature in Vivaldi. Well, good luck with that; My bet is it ain't happening, because it's simply too much work and too few people would like to see this in a browser, but maybe I'm wrong.

@MattSolo45 Try this workaround:
Bookmark the folder where you store your music:
On going to the bookmark you will see a file list like this:
Click a link to play the MP3 file in a new tab. Other file types may need to open your associated media player.

@Pesala cool but I mean a more immersive and simpler solution for new users. However, I gave this topic to add features and not how to solve the problem. It would be a cool optional feature for people with very limited hardware, eg a cheap tablet with Windows where the amount of space counts or for people with weak Internet connections for which the Spotify launch, etc. could have put the network a bit more.

@luetage I am only proposing and not having to make but greetings to you if you do not understand. I know that now there are more important matters such as you mentioned, for example, an email or a mobile browser application I am waiting for but it is an optional option that can be added and it would be another Vivaldi distinguishing from other browsers because this is probably what Vivaldi is giving the user a browser which is for him and he decides whether an option is important to him or not. So please do not delete my idea right away.️

@MattSolo45 No one will delete your idea. The moderators lock and move duplicate ideas, but this is unique.
All we are saying is that with over 1,700 feature requests you will probably never see this implemented, so look for other solutions. If you convert your music to MP3 and videos to MP4, they will play in a browser tab.
There are requests with over 100 votes that have not yet been implemented.

Something you could try if you're desperate would be VLC. It has an "http" interface that you can put in a web panel:

May I humbly add my opinion to the matter: STFU and add the music player... As the OP mentions OPERA browser is currently the only browser which supports this feature... As vivaldi is created by the original OPERA browser creators and I would say a large portion of Vivaldi's new and existing user base are users which have migrated from OPERA for whatever reason, it makes perfect sense to implement the features the user base has grown accustomed too. I felt the need to log in and reply, as I have the same request as OP.
And for the record iOS supports chromium based browsers on the app store so that can't be used as an excuse for not having an available iOS version any longer.

I agree with @Mr3 I have also installed opera gx browser few days back, but I have my privacy reasons to shift to some another good browser, I search for something similar, and found out that the founder of opera has created vivaldi browser then i searched for the features and i think they missed this background feature which is in opera gx browser, and to be honest these small features are the first thing any user notices and wants to have them, I would really request vivaldi to add this feature soon, these first hand user experience will help vivaldi to grow faster as there will be so many things user would see and not just know that there are mail client and calender feature in this browser, I am from marketing field and i know first hand user experience matters alot. ps not telling you to make another opera, just want something more better with opera's feature inside too, such as background music, key-pressing sounds, all the the little things. they are really the first thing I noticed in opera and felt so awesome about it, with features in the sidebar like attaching to other platforms such as discord, whatsapp and telegram and all. I would really be glad if things gets better with vivaldi this way, will do marketing myself lol. just add the damn feature lol. appreciate the team efforts in making the vivaldi more better.

@kush08
Hi, if you switch the panel to "Show desktop Version" it still play if you hide the panel.
You can reach the setting with RMC in the header to open the context menu.
It would be nice to add some breaks in your text for better readability.Cheers, mib

End of this post. I don't want to express my opinion and ideas here anymore since I am a retard to most. Thanks for the support from the few.
