problem: interrupted audio
-
My laptop may not be the most up to date and possibly this issue is related to this.
When watching video, online TV or listening online radio, the audio is constantly interrupted as if the communication cannot keep up with the incoming data stream.
SpeedTest is showing me a 49 Mb/s download rate,
so I gather this can't be the cause of the issue.
Is there a way to adjust the streaming audio input buffer in order to prevent further audio interrupts?
Is this a Vivaldi thing or is this a thing of Windows 10 (just upgraded tot 1809)? -
Following some tips on other fora I've manually updated some (Intel) device drivers, but this did not improve the situation
-
Are you getting the same in other browsers? Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Opera?
I know there have been reports on audio issues after one of the December fixes from MS. Possible fix in first link:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/a5j9nu/kb4471332_breaks_realtek_intel_audio_devices/I have Realtek audio drivers and did not have any issues.

Edge is the only other browser on my li'l laptop and yes, it also suffers from interrupted audio.
I tried to follow the instructions, but got stuck when my laptop listed quite a few audio drivers. -
Solution:
- Open the Device manager
- remove the Realtek Audio driver
- restart the computer
- open the Device manager again
- a new Realtek Audio driver is installed automatically
- problem solved

Good to hear it was a relatively easy fix!
-
The issue returned or wasn't really solved in the first place.
Anyways, I don't think it's caused by Vivaldi. It's W10 1809. -
@S_Paternotte Could be a win issue.
Where your realtek drivers come from? WinUpdate o Realtek site? Sometimes, drivers from wupdate are not working good.
You can try to revert to w1803, but only if you installed 1809 less than 10 days ago. Or wait for MS fix. -
@Hadden89 I did not feel like rolling back to W10/1803. Instead of waiting for MS to fix is, I checked the Dell website and as it happens a lot of new drivers (HD-Audio, HD-graphics, Wireless networks, Bluetooth) have been released last december. After installing these, the issue appears to have been resolved (for now).

@S_Paternotte Windows update sometimes offer faulty/older drivers. Always better get them from the site, as you actually did
