This is a follow up to an earlier comment about adding a Speed Dial thumbnail. I just tried to add a new thumbnail. As is habit from other browsers, I opened the site in the browser tab, opened a new window showing the SD, and then clicked on the +. At which point the problem immediately slaps the me in the face: unlike other browsers, which show the currently open sites so I can readily pick the new one, there's a blank box, alongside of which is a long set of scrollable mini thumbnails that are completely irrelevant to the task at hand, i.e., not one of them is the thumbnail I'm trying to add. Hence, to add a thumbnail, I have to manually enter the URL twice: once in a new tab to get to the desired page, and then after copying that URL, to enter it into the box. And to make matters more complicated, since the SD thumbnails are large and few to a row and nothing can be done to change that, and there's no way to search the SD page, it's hard to find if the desired thumbnail is or is not already there. This whole SD setup sure seems screwy - and really uninviting - to me.

Can we turn on chromless UI for individual windows? On Windows 10 when I turn on chromeless mode, it turns on for every window.

It's fixed in the current snapshot 1.0.321.3 🙂

Is it fixed for you in the latest post-beta build? You can try to make a fresh install and verify if it works correctly, then add the extension and check if it got broken or not.

For now you can zoom with Ctrl+Shift+wheel.

I haven't experienced any crashing. So far, the only thing I've noticed is that it may hold up for a bit when you click on a link or want a page to load when the internet connection lowers a bit. Chrome will still load pretty fast under that same condition. It's not so much of a complaint, more of a speaking out of one final attribute that would let Vivaldi shoot Chrome out of the water… Of course, the second Vivaldi becomes like Google or Microsoft and is no longer secure in terms of privacy, you won't be a growing popularity anymore despite how "pretty" this browser looks.

Using Chorome today I realised that this is a problem with Chromium/Blink in general.
Scaling of page elements when using non defaut font sizes also, unlike that beaultiful Presto engine.

From what I gather from further reading, it's not officially supported. However, I have been using it for over three years with IMAP (previous to that I was using POP3), and there are others who claim that they've been using it for years before that with IMAP enabled. Seems that GMX aren't bothered if you use IMAP with their free service; they've had years to fix it.

Still, if it's mission critical, then I suppose you shouldn't rely on the service due to it being unofficial, but then you can say that about official services that end up shutting down. 😉

Note on BACKGROUND TABS - I found out that one can open background tabs by using the middle mouse button on links. That's good news! Wonder if there is any way to tweak the order of new tabs so that they open up near their parent tab? Long live Vivaldi!

I don't recall seeing this before but I guess if Ctrl+← and Ctrl+→ are no longer in the standard keyboard shortcuts then perhaps it's no longer an issue?

Yeah. I don't try to move tabs or speed dials. Nor do I try to edit bookmarks. All of these things are basically how I want them, and I've no need to adjust them. I was just speaking on the general responsiveness of the UI.

And my processor is same speed at yours but with six cores, and I'm using 10GB of RAM (granted only 1600 MHz), but I just find the UI responsive, not laggy. There are a TON of functionalities that are ragged and sketchy, but there is no way the developers will leave them that way.

Overlay scrollbars in flags is almost perfect except:

2. Facebook submenus don't work (likely the same problem would affect other websites like it)

Modern scroll is very nice too but:

The Find markers do work with the scrollbar on the Dakotafire website. How are they doing them?

So I guess I am left hoping for Vivaldi to tweak the scrollbars eventually.

Thank you! I've seen other people mention this problem in snapshots a while back. Back then, it happened even when using the keyboard shortcut and not just when using the trackpad gesture I described above. The bug disappeared for a while, but is back now with the gesture-only twist.
