I think this feature request can be considered done.
Nowadays, when a user logs in to the Forum for the first time, they get a notification which takes them to this post: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/71523/new-to-the-forum-start-here.
Yes, you're right, all the members of the Kabyle community are fluent in English and French, so we're going to follow these two forums.
Thank you for your answer.
@gaelle I think the problem is, and I've noticed this myself, that any new sub-forum will by default be set to Watching. So when a new forum is created, especially in the "Local forum" part, those who have chosen to Ignore those will suddenly see its threads in Recent.
Personally I have all categories set to "Not Watching" and I believe this should be the default. Otherwise every user ends up with the red "99+" ... This way I can see replies to threads I've posted in and not all the other "noise".
Sorry for the late reply and thank you for sharing this request, we are currently working on implementing this option. Fingers crossed we manage to release it soon. 🤞
@jane-n thank you so much for quick feedback and resolution!
The source of my frustration was that I was looking for a specific feature in Vivaldi, but once I found this forum I was blocked from moving forward before setting up an account, which was a downer.
For those who already used this feature before - if you're not happy with the current color choice (or if it simply doesn't fit your custom CSS), here's a solution:
.topic .votes [component="post/upvote"].upvoted {
background-color: color-here !important;
}
.topic .votes [component="post/downvote"].downvoted {
background-color: color-here !important;
}
Simply replace color-here with the color of your choice.
@pafflick You can all easily change this by just running extra css for the site and using whatever color scheme you fancy. The old one was in fact railscasts.
