They still support email/contacts export and email forwarding if I want to switch.

I also might use a custom domain for my new email so that I can switch providers in the future and keep the same email.

Hi, You are supposed to fix Mailserver ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID error here. There are a couple of reasons behind it so we can't be sure about that. I would suggest you to assess tour proxy settings maybe. It doesn't matter which Operating system you are using; you can gain access to your proxy settings through Google Chrome by navigating to Settings > Advanced > System > launch your computer’s proxy settings: In case you’re utilizing Windows, this will start the Internet Properties window, so just press on the Connections tab, and then select the option of LAN Settings and choose Automatically detect settings: On macOS, this will launch your Network settings window, so just tap on the option of Proxies and choose Automatic Proxy Configuration: You can now try to gain access to your site to see if the issue is fixed. This will surely help with chrome net err_cert_common_name_invalid now.

After updating to 5.3.2679.70 i dod not recieve
any "unusual sign in activity" email from

previous version of vivaldi that had been corrected ? This issue caused me some inconvenience.

I've had to disable the Mail Client as it's become too much of an annoyance. Vivaldi doesn't operate properly (extensions don't work, can't navigate between tabs not create new ones) until the 'Mail client starting' message goes away, which takes a couple of minutes now.

I decided to raise as bug (VB-90750) because what is shown does not reflect what the email's raw text describes.

@janrif It's a puzzle to be sure.

I found it by going to Appearance/menu and then going to the little "menu customization" box. In the dropdown from that box you can scroll down to the Mail category (you can't click on the bold mail label) and under the mail category you can find the "message list" item. Click on that. Once you are there, then over in the right section of the window there are three selections - Context Commands, Application Commands, and Command Chains. If you click on the Application Commands expand arrow, then below that is a "Delete Permanently" command. Drag it to the location where you want it in the left half of the window. Now when you right click on a message in the message list, you will have the option to "Delete Permanently."

Are you able to provide more detail because AFAICS when an image is pasted into an email it is stored as an inline image encoded in base64.

Thanks, I guess the issue is that many enable both mail and calendar at the same time. But AFAIK there is no way to see which service is being authenticated.

The best idea I have at the moment is to have the authentication frame more evident that it belongs to (or initiated by) Vivaldi and show in title which resource (calendar/mail) rights are being requested. But that's far from simple for hopefully an uncommon issue.

It might be, but I do not see that behaviour here.

Open the popup from the mail icon on the Status Bar, and from the Settings, Dropdown, select Rebuild Mail Search Database.

Restart Vivaldi and see if the problem has disappeared.

@cheyrn Well, that's a mailing list! Have you considered starting out by trying to simply use the client for normal private email? You're the first user I have run into trying to use it to manage a mail list. I don't think the mail client authors contemplated that kind of use.

Yup, doesn't make sense. Signing up, they ask for your phone-number (kinda sneaky - only at the very, very end), yet 2FA is not available...
