Unusual sign in activity
-
I keep getting email notifications from microsoft account for unusual sign in activity of my email account. I'm using vivaldi v5.3.2679.68, i not sure if this started since the last update. This has never happen before. All setting is same for OS (win10 64bit 20H2) and browser.

@teots this seems to be a relevant Q&A from Microsoft about the topic. Seems to me that this email may have nothing to do with Vivaldi, it's just a mail that came to your account inbox. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/microsoft-account-unusual-sign-in-activity-email/659a3a7c-7b54-4ced-88aa-d545f543fae9
Please check what are the real links hidden under "Review recent activity" by only hovering the mouse over the button and making sure the link goes to a legitimate address. Apparently you can also instead of clicking there go to Open your account and check sign-ins at https://account.live.com/Activity and check things out

I did have this happen to me and can't really understand it. It happened a couple of days ago.
In my case it is a minor account of mine so no harm but I did go through the security process and some session activity appeared that was geolocated in the United States instead of Portugal. That Activity matched the start of vivaldi and thus imap connection but it didn't seem to affect vivaldi client imap. I flagged that activity as not me and changed the password as per procedure but as already said, the occurrence matches vivaldi client imap activity,

I would suggest checking if you have a VPN active.
I was using a VPN recently and Microsoft sent me such a warning when Vivaldi Mail checked my mail account - it looked like I was somewhere else so Microsoft triggered the warning.
If so, you can safely ignore it.
If you do want to click on any links, as mentioned above, hover over the link and make sure it is a real microsoft.com link before clicking.

@LonM in my case there was no vpn and other activity at the same time was ok.
I did sign in without following the mail link and went to the activity page from there. Afterwards I followed the email link and ended up at the same page. As such can't really explain the situation...

What puzzle me is that i don't have this unusual sign in activity issue on pervious version of vivaldi, i assume it is only this recent 1 or 2 updates. And i don't have vpn.

After updating to 5.3.2679.70 i dod not recieve
any "unusual sign in activity" email from
microsoft. I wonder is there an issue with the
previous version of vivaldi that had been corrected ? This issue caused me some inconvenience.
