@wiwaldy2 if you install a proper FTP client and have it handle FTP requests, as you're going to have to do in the future anyways, this won't happen.

@Gwen-Dragon Okay, the problem was actually the visual book mark on the Vivaldi start page. It would take me to the login screen to enter username and password just fine. Once I entered the info to login I would get the error. If I entered the URL in the address bar for the login page, and entered the required information, login worked fine. I deleted the original visual bookmark and created a new one. It works as it should. Sorry for the trouble.

There are 2 steps. First you click on login on the Vivaldi site, then a new site appears and there you input your username and password. Then you click login on this page and -- nothing happens for a while, because Vivaldi is processing this request. If you get inpatient and click login again, you will get the authentication error you mentioned. Then only going back to a normal vivaldi site, reloading, and doing the whole thing again will let you login. So again, after hitting login be patient and wait for the site to do its thing, then it should work out fine without the error.

About the pasting of passwords I can only say that i could paste fine in this field, but I actually let Vivaldi save the password for vivaldi.net, therefore the login information is already filled out in my case.

Given that @izacks started out reporting a Vivaldi issue related to entering passwords, then ran into more issues logging into Vivaldi, I think the concern was more about whether these two issues were related, or if there was possibly a problem with the Vivaldi installation itself.

@izacks I hope that we've provided a logical explanation for what was (most likely) the cause of the problem you experienced on the Vivaldi site, and given you a few options to address it. Thanks very much for reporting all of these issues!
