Move Search for "Selected Text" to the Top of Context Menu
-
As for now it is awkward to look for that option somewhere in the middle of the context menu.
It would be really great to have it on the top of menu. (Like in current Opera release).
Another option is to make popup menu when selecting some text (again like in Opera). -
@bnodya Please vote for the generic feature request to Allow Editing of Menus
It is very unlikely that a specific request like this would be implemented. Changing the selected text context menu would affect all users and break their muscle memory.

@pesala done. Agree, menu editing would be great. But without editing ability it still very convenient to use search on the top, you don't have to look for that option every time you search smth.

I think what you're looking for is Opera 53's selection search/copy.

guys as already mentioned, this could be partially replaced by using S3 Translator. When a text is highlighted it shows one (ore more) icon/s pupup. The main funcion of the popup icon is to translate the text but it's possibile to assign a domain to link. I don't yet ty by I guess additing some search engine it shuold search inside that instead of translate.
The popup icon is also customizable, for eg. dimension, transparency, duration popup and others tweaks.Anyway it additionally shows (as user chioce) a second icon popup that it's explicit for copy the text highlighted.

This is the main major annoyance for me with Vivaldi. After months of using it, search option is still awkward to find, and i never get to it using muscle memory, it always requires effort, for something i do 100x a day. So i disagree with muscle memory argument, 'Search selected' is now buried under 10 menu items list for various extensions, which varies as user add/removes extensions, is different in private mode or different profile/pc.
Besides 'Copy', 'Search selected' is almost the only other reason why i ever open context menu. It would be great to get some usage stats on this - there is no way 'Print' deserves the top spot, like many people want to print few words. Same goes for the extension menu items, no way usage stats would justify their placement.

@messiejoes I sympathise with you. With so many extensions on the menu it makes for a lot of mouse movement. You could try keyboard shortcuts, but it would take a few key presses: Shift+F10, then S, S, Enter.
I do think that Copy, and Copy to Note belong on top, but Print? Who prints web pages from the menu. On the rare occasion that I want to print to a PDF, I would just press Ctrl+P.

@Pesala Hello.
I liked this feature of "Opera" and was wondering if something similar could be created for Vivaldi. Has it been copied or is it still something we might see in a future release?

In the meantime use the extension Selection Popup:

@bnodya Editing of context menus is now available in the latest snapshot.
