@mib2berlin said in Videos on "www.welt.de" are not playing - NO error message:
In my Stable install all is default and no extensions.
If I disable Vivaldi add blocker it works on snapshot too but need very long to load, may be 30 seconds on a 50 Mbit connection.
Thank you for this hint!
I disabled the Vivaldi add blocker and it works: videos on "www.welt.de" are now playing.
I think, this is a bug and should be solved.
@matir143 said in Vivaldi cannot play some videos on Windows:
Chrome, there everything works.
I have Windows 10 N version that comes with no media support.
So Chrome has inbuilt set of (full) media support!?
Obviously we will have to remember that when trouble-shooting/comparing browsers!!

@Gwen-Dragon thanks. on app radeon settings no description about this parametr.
@Twenty I also have the problem that I can not watch YT videos, but then I activated this extension and set Chrome. This expansion belies YT, our Vivaldi is Chrome and Youtube videos are playing again.

@herod0t h264 is playing, so it's definitely not Vivaldi's bundled libffmpeg. ☺
In the Bunny videos the luminance and/or color profile seems to be off for me as well (even in external player).
Same psychadelic grass tones in webm/vp8 and barely vissible bunny at 0m42s.
But luckily no greenish blobs on black level cutoff (maybe graphics hardware/driver dependent).
Enforcing colour profiles does not change things for me.
Maybe in your case the responsible part of the video pipeline this way just gets the message: "out of color space, paint it black"
But it for now at least, it seems to be somebody else's problem. ☺
I have started seeing this issue again quite frequently in the past few weeks. My CPU heat sink and fan are clean and working just fine.
It happens when watching YouTube videos. Look at the CPU and power usage in Task Manager. I typically have only a few tabs open in two windows. I use only two extensions: WordWeb and the Vivaldi Forum mod.
YouTube CPU Power Usage.png
I noticed that the videos are 1080p HS. Reducing the quality to 720p reduces the power usage to High/Moderate.
