Solved Support Extensions
-
We have discussed this recently, and unfortunately, adding support for extensions in the mobile version doesn't seem feasible. For now, I'm marking this request as "Will not do". I understand that this is currently the top request (for all platforms), so I'm not closing the topic, but I wanted to let you know that it cannot be implemented - at least not in the foreseeable future.
We might take a look at the UserScript/User Javascript/Greasemonkey support somewhere along the road, though. It might help in some cases where extensions are used.

Hi team,
Why don't you partner with ublock origin to integrate the extension in the browser like abp in edge or brave using most of ublock features
-
@SheikhAzharuddin There is already a basic adblocker that supports most adblock style lists.
There are separate requests for other parts of ublock origin features:
-
@LonM but those are opened since years! I understand it is not possible to enable full extension support in Vivaldi but atleast give us few like ublock origin..the inbuilt adblockers are either detected in some sites which ask to disable ad blocker or they don't work effectively like in YouTube I still see some ads or black screen

UBlockOrigin is one of the most complex extensions there is. It probably would require full extension support to get it.
If you're having trouble with YouTube you might be better off using a dedicated app like the official app, or an open source one like newpipe.

+1 for extension support. Lemur browser supports extensions now also. But Vivaldi on Android is Top browser. Extension support along with background play option now supported = perfect Android browser 200%. Devs PLEASE make extension support happen !
-
@LonM uBlock Origin support in Vivaldi Snapshot on Android much better choice.

Hi Everyone,
At one point in time I used to feel as though having extensions would be pretty great to have, but the developers have seemingly added some additional settings that now make me feel like we really don't need them. -
@Davy49 Part of the Vivaldi concept is to have everything you actually need, built in to the browser. This makes development and maintenance labor-intensive, sometimes slow-seeming, but it's the reason there is a Vivaldi. So...
-
@Davy49
There is no user stylesheet and no user script in Vivaldi.
An example of extensions I need (so I use Kiwi browser on smartphone): Violentmonkey and Stylus. So yes, we still need extensions.
-
Has the official Vivaldi team given a positive response to supporting extensions?
-
@bauw No, that won't work, see here:
-
@stardepp Thank you for letting me know. There is no need to have any expectations anymore.
-
@LonM Totally agree hopefully in the future it is possible, imagine being able to have extensions in an efficient and lightweight browser, it would be a great achievement.
I hope you take this opinion into account, and it does not remain in the air -

Except of course extensions would make it no longer efficient or lightweight...
-
Has the Vivaldi Dev teams stance not changed from "Will Not Do"?
They could at least have some limited extensions available for Vivaldi-Android.
I personally am just looking for uBlock and SponsorBlock. -
WILL NOT DO means that will not be implemented, not now and not in the future.
Vivaldi for Android already has a built-in ad blocker. And this can be extended with your own block lists.
