Filter/search passwords by account name under privacy
-
//Updated on 30/5/19 (Make the request more clear).
Current snapshot - stable users have to wait 2.6 - now allow to filter/search stored passwords within the Vivaldi UI by website but still a sorting by account name would be cool.
-
@Hadden89 Note: Use the search passwords field, not the Search Settings field.
-
Would be great to get a Search field in the Alt-P settings Privacy page, so one doesn't need to type all that. I copy/paste some passwords from Vivaldi, and when you have 50-100 of them, it's pretty annoying to find the one you want without a search field.
-
@t0yz To save typing it, if you use it often, add a new bookmark with the URL = chrome://settings/passwords and the Title Passwords, to your Bookmarks Bar.
-
Is this request for filtering by website, or the actual password text itself?
If it's for the website, this is now possible in the latest snapshot: https://vivaldi.com/blog/snapshots/filter-saved-passwords-vivaldi-browser-snapshot-1560-4/
-
It is not DONE until it makes it to the Stable version.
-
This request shouldn't be marked as done until you can filter by both domain and account name, imo.
-
@AltCode Probably.
This evening I'll test the snapshot and make the request more clear.DONE.
Filtering should be available both for account names and web sites.//EDIT: Passwords are a bad idea, as they are hidden by default.
-
@Hadden89 Filtering for passwords seems like it would be tricky as first you'd need to make them visible. But filtering account name is a good idea.
-
@Hadden89 I just checked in the latest snapshot and it seems that you can use the one search box to filter by either URL or username. But you can't filter them both at the same time.
-
The Settings Password Manager does need enhancement, I believe.
Settable column width and table size/width/height so that one can manage the editing more easily are fairly obvious (obscured information because of fixed column width is not helpful).
Add to that improvements in Search/Filter and it's looking much better already.
-
@LonM I think this could be marked as done. Filtering by website|account works and also columns are resize-able.
-
@Hadden89 Sorting of columns can also be done by clicking on the column headers.
