Is it missing when you go to vivaldi://chrome/extensions ?
You might also try AdGuard. It seems to work fine with the latest snapshot of Vivaldi.

I figure it was having a minor identity crisis, nothing big just interesting….this latest snapshot has picked up some speed though.....baby steps.

Well, "need" is probably relative. (I certainly could use one :P, and I think most users would need one to do any personalized customization). But yes, with enough knowledge, eperimentation, and persistence, a lot of individual customization is possible.

BTW, since I posted earlier, An_dz has started UI Customization thread that is focused almost exclusively on manual editing of the UI via CSS editing.

Regarding a structure feature list or other documentation, no, Vivaldi is too new and all the developers' energy is going into getting usable product ready. Currently it's at the Tech Preview level (variously interpreted as alpha or pre-alpha; some projections mentioned in the forum have said maybe a beta level browser by the end of the year. If you haven't already seen it, check this Vivaldi home page for an overview of the project goals.

If you like tinkering with a browser and can tolerate a lot of bugs and unfinished features, Vivaldi can be a lot of fun. Eventually it should have as much or more customizability as Olde Opera (12.x and earlier, before they switched to Chromium/Blink). But depending on how you look at it, it's really in the gestation stage, or neonatal stage, or at most the early toddler stage right now.

If you do want to use it and are using Technical Preview 2 (v.1.0.118.19) as most new users are, I would strongly recommend the most recent Developer snapshot.

Vivaldi is developing rapidly and there have been numerous bug fixes and feature improvements since Technical Preview 2, and Developer snapshots since then have generally been as stable, if not more stable, than TP2.

Follow the Team Blog for weekly updates (usually on Mondays) and occasional mid-week updates. You could probably get a pretty good idea of where things are at by reading the Team Blog posts (usually with a list of bugfixes IIRC) over the last couple months. (Extra credit for wading through the Blog post user comments :P)

Right. I refer to file://, http://. https://, vivaldi://, chrome:// all as valid "web protocols" because they all instruct the browser to "browse" to a specific address to receive a transfer of data. Technically, I suppose they are all just "addressing protocols."

Sounds like the same Miss Vivian we've seen multiple times in the old My Opera. If you did reply she'd send you a typical Nigeria scam message (asking for help to get some relative's money out of the country, etc.)

But FWIW, my understanding is that many/most/all (?) of the switches in this List of Chromium Command Line Switches « Peter Beverloo can be used with Vivaldi.

It may also be relevant that several Vivaldi URLs (vivaldi://vivaldi-urls) don't seem to follow the exact same convention (e.g., vivaldi://chrome-urls forwards to vivaldi://vivaldi-urls, vivaldi://extensions forwards to vivaldi://chrome/extensions, and vivaldi://bookmarks forwards to chrome-extension://eemcgdkfndhakfknompkggombfjjjeno/main.html, which currently is non-functional, but has been in the past; see a few others here and here).

So you might also have to experiment a bit with command line structure to see what works. (?)

Like Ayespy, I think OP (ricardit0) meant he didn't want all the previously open tabs to be re-opened when restarting Vivaldi, but your take on it could be correct. If so, Olde Opera (12.x and earlier) cache management was really quite remarkable in many ways, including (usually) what you're talking about with the cached content being reused when Opera was re-opened.

I don't think Vivaldi's cache management is there yet, and I don't know if that is one of the developers' goals. But if that is a feature you want, you might also post it in the official Vivaldi Feature Request thread.

I can't understand, why all these websites have to check what browser you have and decide if it will work or not.
If they are checking, a simple warning, that there may be some problems with this browser would be enough. :whistle:
