[Feature Req] Make a 'developer tool' for customizing browser UI css

  • Basically, I'd like something that could show me element's name like developer tool does for web pages. For example - I didn't like seeing full certificate string in address bar, I'd rather see just a green lock like on attached screenshot. Without ability to see how this element is identified in css, I had to guess. Thankfully, I guessed right and now I don't have that unneeded text line on all ssl websites Other people could do much more customization - like it can be done in firefox with it's chrome.css. The problem now is only finding correct elements in css... OR rather you shouldn't insert this functionality in browser itself, but make a standalone tool which could be downloaded if someone needs it Attachments:

@Andys: I'm guessing you've already seen this post (links to this thread), but thought you might be interested if you haven't.

Thanks! Guess we don't need any program then, only some info in faqs or pinned thread on forums

Well, "need" is probably relative. (I certainly could use one :P, and I think most users would need one to do any personalized customization). But yes, with enough knowledge, eperimentation, and persistence, a lot of individual customization is possible.

BTW, since I posted earlier, An_dz has started UI Customization thread that is focused almost exclusively on manual editing of the UI via CSS editing.
