Build a reputation to get mail seriously?

Why don't you say that initially in the popup screen that for you to get an email with vivaldi.net you have to so some crap before you get it. So people will not have to spend their time to find out there is not something wrong with the settings but you have to do some jumping jacks to get one. Update the info and post that so people will not waste their time. O but then they will not create an account with vivaldi.net would they?

@Dimitriscg Vivaldi does not need users to create an account with Vivaldi.net, and doesn't really care whether you do or not. Vivaldi DOES care whether people seek out Vivaldi specifically and only to establish an email account, so that they can send out spam emails to clueless victims - because when they do that, it damages Vivaldi's reputation and the reputation of vivaldi.net email as a domain, causing major email providers to block the domain and making every other vivaldi.net email user's account useless. To prevent this, Vivaldi now requires that webmail be available to real, actual contributing community members - not fly-by-night scammers and spammers. This means you gotta build some reputation on the service.
So if you want to be a community member, be one, and have fun! At some point, you will also be offered access to vivaldi.net webmail. If you just want the webmail but don't care to be a community member, then, so sorry - only community members are eligible. If you find this offensive, then that's a shame, but it's the only way Vivaldi can preserve the reputation, and thereby the usefulness, of the service.

@Dimitriscg
Before this regulation, there was a major problem for Vivaldi e-mail users.Many e-mail providers and many websites blocked Vivaldi mail, which led to some very unpleasant experiences.
I think this new regulation is very good, Vivaldi has come up with something very appropriate, because it works.
Respect for the creativity, you have to come up with it first.
Things have almost returned to normal.
Even if it still lingers a bit today.
Many email providers and websites have lifted the blockade.However, if you take a closer look here, you will notice that the Vivaldi Forum attracts an above-average amount of spam, despite several built-in security measures.
You could almost believe that Google is sending them.

While the motivation is perhaps admirable (in recognition that the aforementioned problems so exist), this walled-garden-esque approach is less than ideal.
For a public forum, or similar, one could argue that it makes sense to enforce a trial period of sorts until a user has proven their good intentions; but not for an email service.
This should understandably be an annoyance for many new users, whether or not the flaw is documented.
I recognise their are likely design constraints when creating an email application so closely tied to a web browser. Perhaps security and isolation should be the focal points, rather than limiting a user's fair use of email.
Perhaps I am missing some of the subtleties of the issues faced by Vivaldi in administering email as a service, however at face value, my observations still stand.
On another note;
Is anyone aware of whether (or not) a Mail View (preview) toggle will ever be implemented?
The only reference I could find was a 2-3 year old post (a witch hunt) that recommended switching to a Horizontal Mail View layout, and 'dragging the panel down'. Needless to say, if that ever worked, it does no longer.
Cheers.

@t0n3d3f You are mixing two entirely different things here. Vivaldi Community Webmail is a perk that a user must qualify for. The Vivaldi Mail built-in email client is available to anyone from the moment you download the browser. It is not connected to any email address, but may be used by anyone to collect and view emails from any account they already have, and to send emails using such accounts.
Vivaldi Webmail is not closely tied to a web browser. It is one of Vivaldi Technologies AS' community services, which anyone who qualifies to access it, may use with any web browser at all.
I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say "preview." When you click on an email in the list in Vivaldi Mail mail client, you see the email immediately. No "preview" is required. At the same time, there is a mail setting that displays the first line or two of an email right in the list, so that you can see part of what the email says merely by scrolling the list. I'm not sure you would call this a "preview."
In Vivaldi Webmail, there is no such setting.
I don't know if perhaps you are looking to get a glance at an email by hovering it in the mail list (in either the client or webmail) but Vivaldi does not offer that at present.
Perhaps you can clarify whether you mean client or webmail, and what exactly you expect to do and to see in order to access a "preview?"

When can I create a Vivaldi email account? Do I just have to wait or do I have to do something else?

@Eith welcome to the forum. The answer you are looking for is but a bit further up in this thread. There may be more info in other posts that you may find relevant or interesting, but this should get you going:
