      Hi,

It takes a lot of CPU whereas Chromium do not.
I got almost 70% and with Chromium 10% at the
      very most.

      Do something !

      Rgds,

          Which GPU?
A few steps so i can check it?

@MrMic Thanks, the @DoctorG can be a suggestion and you can dig into via terminal

                    suo ps -aux

Do you have a discrete GPU?

@MrMic I remember some users had high CPU usage with Vivaldi Mail. Do you use Vivaldi Mail client with calendar and feeds?
                        https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/84766/reduce-mail-cpu-usage
Reindex of Mail database could help:
                        https://help.vivaldi.com/mail/mail-advanced/troubleshooting-and-debugging-vivaldi-mail/#Fix_for_a_couple_of_known_errors_re-index

Try a reinstall Vivaldi from deb package file in Shell with dpkg.

                        wget https://downloads.vivaldi.com/stable/vivaldi-stable_5.7.2921.63-1_amd64.deb
                        sudo dpkg -i vivaldi-stable_5.7.2921.63-1_amd64.deb

That issue was gone in a 5.8 Snapshot version as i remember.
