Reduce Mail CPU usage
-
I'm using Vivaldi 5.7.2921.63 (Stable channel) (x86_64) on macOS Ventura 13.2.1. When enabling Mail and adding an account, CPU usage basically goes crazy - even with no tabs open, it's constantly using the whole CPU. Disabling Mail brings CPU usage back to normal.
It's a large IMAP mail account, and I guess the usage might be due to indexing or something - but it didn't stop after many hours of high CPU, so it might be something else.
I really would like to use the integrated mail client, but it's impossible like this. Please fix it!

Yes I have the exact same issue. I too have had to disable the mail client for the time being.

I have the same problem on "6.0.2979.15". My IMAP account has ~80.000 e-mails.

same problem here. Seems like I have to disable the mail module for the moment as well

@Andhar79 this has worked for me

Heed the warning though. Make a backup of the mail storage folder if you use POP3 (no issue with IMAP although I think all my emails were downloaded again)

@WildEnte thanks for the advise - I am using IMAP, though

@Andhar79 one more thing: if you use special filters, make a note which ones they are. Labels and imap folders are synced via IMAP and will stay, but your custom filters might need to be set up from scratch
Sorry if this info comes a bit late...
