Hello All,
a simple and straightforward question: Vivaldi memorize and crypt my passwords, so I can safely access my logins on every PC on which Vivaldi is installed and syncronized, so why on Earth shoud I use a PW manager like KeePassXC?

@nicolavivaldi Vivaldi Sync can fail and break your Vivaldi password store. And Vivaldi Sync is not a backup.

@doctorg Excuse me for wasting your time (and for my bad english!), but I'm curious to know a couple of things:

1. Don't my sync data reside on a server? if not, how it's possible to sync them?
2. This fail and break surprise me, but anyway, in order to prevent this issue, shouldn't be enough a periodical export of the pw in a cripted csv file, so to restore them in case of system failure?

Yes, you can sync it.

Yes, if you export your Vivaldi login/password database as CSV regularly, that is a good backup.

My answer was not meant as: Do not use sync.
Using extra KeepassXC helps in cases you have more than one password for a login URL, the password manager of Vivaldi or Chromium is not very intelligent and can rarely overwrite logins for similar URLs.
I hope i coudl explain it good enough.

In addition to the other replies, i'd mention that KPXC is much more flexible & functional than using any browser's internal password storage tool [eg, the ability to categorise, add notes, generate user-defined complex new passwords, etc].
