Chromium update and status bar clock – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1843.5
-
@poto: Ok, i put my alarm clock in the toolbar to the left of the address bar
This question arises, why can't tools be placed with plug-in buttons? Which is to the right of the address bar -
@ian-coog: Thanks, I also thought that there was no time to refresh the page. I have another question, why can't the tool be placed with the plug-in button, which is on the right side of the address bar

@13-beta2: yeah... i was not sure, but it doesn't surprise me. vivaldi is always copying features from opera 12, a browser from 9 years ago. it would be nice if they copy current opera, which features i miss everyday i spend with vivaldi.
-
@ruarí: The format is based on the locale used by V. There is a settings available internally, but this setting is tied to a feature, so not released. Releasing that setting would help tho.
-
Oh my, Reddit and Twitter are both broken. Yeah I know it's been reported, just found it surprising that such huge bugs made it in Chromium (or is it just Vivaldi?)
This snapshot is not usable in this state, gonna have to revert. -

Personally, I can't even look at that browser, it makes me want to puke as a whole , they have long gone way beyond the saying of "all in good measure", its overly excessive, oversaturated, overmagnified, narcissistic, hipstery, and transexual pinky-purple design drips from every corner of the browser and the company in general, see design, blog language, presentation to the public and market positioning, not to speak about privacy issues, their predatory lend practices in Africa which are being investigated and the chinese ownership.
But as those things don't matter to you, and you still see "features" in it, you are apparently using the wrong browser and free to return to your favorite one.

@Gwen-Dragon Cannot confirm. Your link with a fresh upgraded Vivaldi 2.12.1843.5 (Official Build) (64-bit) works flawless. I have uBlock Origin v1.24.4 installed but no Privacy Badger and the ARD Mediathek works fine.
I'd think the culprit may be Privacy Badger...? -
@ian-coog: I downloaded Vivaldi stable and installed it as a portable version. Then I copied my user data folder from the snapshot version into the stable version and everything works just fine. So, it seems that all my user data files are fine. No corrupt files. In conclusion, I think that there is a problem with parsing notes in the newer snapshots.

@HalleAndert make sure to report it, devs must know and better use the bugreport than posting it here

@Gwen-Dragon I managed to pin down which extension blocked my main profile with Twitch and Twitter: it's Pixiv Toolkit 3.10.0-2020030306 (ID: ajlcnbbeidbackfknkgknjefhmbngdnj)
All other extensions can be left active (in my case uBO 1.24.4, uBO Extra, Links Panel 1.4.3, MEGA 3.82.7, AutoplayStopper 1.7.4, Twitter Media Downloader 0.1.4.3)
I can live with that, I can enable it only when visiting Pixiv, otherwise it's useless outside it. At least I don't have to use a 2nd profile for twitch/twitter now.
Curiously, I can access Twitter and Twitch and then reactivate the pixiv toolkit extension, and the sites continue to work until I close and restart the browser.
Could be worth to report this for testing? -
VB-61700 related bug -- starting via an ssh connection to X11 display on another machine fails.
The prior work-around for 2.11 (to use --no-xshm command line option) has no effect.
In this case, with vivaldi --version reporting this...
Vivaldi 2.12.1843.5...no window appears at all.
Instead these errors result when run in a terminal:
$ vivaldi-snapshot [25350:25350:0307/101725.353063:ERROR:chrome_content_client.cc(346)] Failed to locate and load the component updated flash plugin. and here again using the prior work-around that includes the --no-xshm opt:
$ vivaldi-snapshot --no-xshm [25877:25877:0307/101849.222536:ERROR:chrome_content_client.cc(346)] Failed to locate and load the component updated flash plugin. Remote X11 display is PRETTY TYPICAL; 'twould be nice if this were tested on the various releases.

Its impossible to delete cookies and site data in vivaldi://settings/siteData or by ctrl+shift+delete.
If you open vivaldi://settings/siteData they are still thereOnly browser restart helps.

@gwen-dragon: Is someone has the same issue as me ?
-
@daivy-merlijs If it didn't appearing after resetting status then this has only been reported by those looking for the clock in Vivaldi Stable instead of Snapshot.
e.g. https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/44708/i-don-t-see-the-status-bar-clock -
@poto Because there is no droptarget container on the right side, only the extensions container which is something else entirely. It could be done of course.
-
Eurosport player not work! https://postimg.cc/xkgffJwK
-
twitter feed no longer work for me in snapshot. It work in stable
-
@archive1 Known bug.
-
@tbgbe: Damn, I am such an idiot. I thought the post was for stable version.
My excuses ^^'
