No. The decryption key i not the decryption password, it is only used to check validity of typed decryption password..

No, i guess that you lost the master key (is stored on your OS keystore) after setup of new PC, OS user and Vivaldi profile.

No. If you had not exported password list before as CSV file, they are lost.
The Vivaldi profile need thee OS encryption key which is not stored in Vivaldi profile. -

@NEO701 And or this one if you have backup of old Windows user profile.
May be unknown fact: Windows accounts have to be backup with special software (f.ex. like Easeus backup software or from other companies) to be transfered to other Windows PC.

I just Switched from my old win10 PC to a new win11 PC , installed vivaldi and logged into my account but my Data ( bookmarks , extensions , passwords , etc ) did not load on my new PC and i'm stuck with a fresh vivaldi with nothing to workaround with , I Tried reinstalling , logging in and out , clearing data but nothing has worked.If your Windows 10 PC is still around. Start it and run Vivaldi and make sure Sync is active. Keep Vivaldi open for half an hour to be sure everything is synched to the sync server. Then start Windows 11 PC and let Vivaldi synch. Then it should get the synched data from Windows 10.
To be on the safe side of things make a copy of the profile folder of Windows 10.

Answering in a long thread is not very useful, i think.
Support is easier with less mess.
Please, for all those who need specialised personal help to f.ex. decrypt login data, restore old profile from other PC and more to rebuild a profile, open a extra thread in subforum for your OS Windows, Linux and MacOS with Vivaldi browser for Desktop.
Supporters, helpers and users brains work different.
It is good not to loose overview. Could be better structure leads to better support. Just my thoughts.I only try to help others, for fun, for empowerment of others, to reduce impacts of a IT disaster.

Hello,
I do know about the sync issues, but I'm in a bit different scenario.
I have a few devices with Vivaldi with all the data present on Windows/Android (passwords, bookmarks, notes etc are there), but the sync is non-operational currently ("Set new encryption password").
How do I proceed so that all devices will just resume syncing???

BTW, I've learnt about vivaldi:password-manager/settings and I am even more confused - for example encruption configuring options seem to open Google password management page - ???

If you're stuck on "Set new encryption password" just enter a password. I used my Vivaldi sync password and it accepted it.

The thing is, I reset remote data from machine A (work machine), it worked well, but machine B (home machine) was kicked off sync server. Now I let machine B join sync, it still conflicts.
I kind of don't want to reset remote data, because I suspect if I reset data from machine B, machine A would be kicked off. And by next workday when I have access to machine A, it will again conflicts. The loop might be infinite.
Unfortunately I can't access both machines at the same time, only one at a time. It's a pain.I've got access to machine A now. I logged in on that machine, enter encryption key, and after a minute sync starts, and immediately it got conflicts.
Since there is no way to resolve conflicts (there is no hint which machine or what data is conflicting and how to merge data), I have to move away from Vivaldi. That is very sad.

Hello,
This worked.
What I did was I entered my old synchronisation password in one browser. Sync went to ready status immediately (Downloading: Ready, Uploading: Ready). Then in other browsers I was asked now about "password to decrypt data" (not "New password"), entered the old password and everything seems to be working OK now.Thanks

Hey guys,
After i did my every quarterly duty of setting up and reinstalling my OS again.
I encountered a problem i never had before. I logged into my vivaldi account and ALL MY PASSWORDS BOOKMARKS EVERYTHING IS JUST GONE!!!!Any idea why?
Usually the sync works flawlessly

I just had to install the operating system again and Vivaldi. I logged in my account in Vivaldi, hoping all data (passwords, extensions, configurations etc) would recover, but for my surprise Vivaldi still looks like the standard installation. Have I lost everything? It used to work. Nothing has syncronized yet! I logged out and in again, but still nothing works.
