This is very convenient when you need to backup multiple Linux boxes, as you can manage many server's backup from a centralized point of management. On addition you don't need to install anything to the Linux servers. You can download it from sourceforge.net

It can run pre and post scripts per job, thus you can prepare the box to be backed up with some script that may dump some database, mount some dir or LVM volume or take a snapshot of a VM.

©XSIBackup-App can also backup VMs in ©VMWare ©ESXi hosts with full native support. It has almost every professional feature that you may require: block level deduplication, hot VM backups, e-mail reports, etc...

Linux backup is free without any limitation. ©VMWare ©ESXi backup is free for VMs up to 100 GB to local storage.

Both Fedora and Debian are dinosaurs truly meant for anything but the Plasma desktop. Arch and Arch based distros are the way to go.

I gave up on Fedora Rawhide, as all of the currently-supplied 6.4 kernels (both git and otherwise) stood a 50/50 chance of booting up on this hardware. Either it did, or it didn't. Fedora 38 has been stable.

KDE Plasma on Debian Sid (unstable) and Testing has actually been quite stable and reliable.

I was unable to get Kubuntu LTS installed to an external SSD without it also wanting to put a swap partition on the internal HDD (with Debian Sid already installed on it and with its own swap partition), but it managed to install to a SanDisk Cruzer Glide thumb drive without wanting to install that separate swap partition. I do not know how long it will last, installed to the thumb drive, as it has a (unknown to me) finite number of read and write cycles.

I eventually had some issues with KDE neon, so I stopped using it.

I purged all config for apt-daily.timer and apt-daily-upgrade.timer.

Yesterday unattended-upgrades started the updating of security channel.
Must have been some trouble with systemd or the Debian remote repo.

I learned that there are actually two separate Aldi companies: Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd. The Aldi Wikipedia article has the logos of both and they are different.

Aldi Süd owns the Aldi U.S. chain. Their kitchen appliances sold here are under the Ambiano name. I bought one of the Ambiano single-serve coffee makers three years ago and it still works great.

My experience with kitchen appliances, is that if I can get one year out of it without having any issues, it's a decent appliance. 🙂
