We’ve rolled out Two-Factor Authentication for Vivaldi accounts and a new reputation system for Vivaldi Webmail access.

"This means that new users will not be able to use Vivaldi Webmail immediately after creating the account. They’ll have to participate in Forum discussions, interact with others on Vivaldi Social, share their browser themes, post on their blog and/or sync their browser data to collect “points”."
It seems to me that this way of connecting with people and their loyalty to Vivaldi is closer and more creative. Thanks Vivaldi Team!
-
I do not like these new requirements, but as a free user I have no choice either. I'll wait for the mail.
-
@yabozdar Don't just wait. Participate. That makes it faster. More participation, less time to wait.
-
@Team_Vivaldi I just enrolled my Yubikeys this morning, and signed into this forum this afternoon using the key. Nice work!

Давно у меня была почта вивальди, но потом доступ к ней был закрыт. Я не злоумышленник. Вот как быть со мной, когда моя почта откроется вновь.

So let me get this straight. You open a vivaldi.net account for a business venture with the expectation that you're going to be able to share the email address with clients and for other business related communications only to discover after doing all of that (vivaldi certainly doesn't warn you when you setup your account), you find out that the only way to "access" your email is through the nebulous term "interact" for an indeterminate period of time with random users in Vivaldi's forums or Mastodon channel which have absolutely nothing what so ever to do with your business, or would aid you in operating your business? Good luck with that!
-
vivaldi.net mail accounts are not for business use.
-
That's exactly the problem with Vivaldi's nebulous terms of service for webmail, they're nebulous.
How many times do I have to use sync 1, 100, 1000?
How many times should I post in the forum and what should I post that's related to my business communications needs?
Why should I post in the support forums or contact Vivaldi via email when they do not respond?
I guess it's a good thing Vivaldi is not in the car business. Yeah, you purchased a car from us, but you don't get to drive it off the lot until you've completed our super secret college scavenger hunt with no instructions or clear idea of what you're supposed to be searching for.
-
Were is that in your terms of service?
Do you even have terms of service or is that as nebulous as your new email policy?
-
Hi,
Please stay calm. You can find answers to your question reading.
On your welcome message it's explained.
Also on this Blog post.If had expectations without information, this is something unrelated to Vivaldi.
BTW,
Where you got about Vivaldi eMail Service? -
@TechDocX71 No person is forced to use a free unpaid service and community mail.
And we tell nobody when restrictions against new users and spammers will be removed.
You have just registered and act like wanting to win the Nobel Prize of Complaints.
Have a nice day.

my business communications
Use FastMail.
-
I'm not the one going around in your technical support forums claiming to be an "Ambassador" and calling people an angry whale.
I came to Vivaldi based upon your reputation, your web browser, email services reputation and supportive community. Apparently none of that is even remotely true and your community and your "Ambassadors" what ever that means, is apparently full of people that cannot answer questions and resort to name calling and encouraging new users to take their business somewhere else. SO I WILL!
-
I can not understand why users want to use a anonymous community mail account for their business.
Some bad configured mail servers reject all mails from vivaldi.net accounts as spam. A fact is AI-based spam-protection on the receiving mail servers cause the trouble.
I won't tell you the company names who are creating such bad email protection rules and crappy hardware appliances. -
@TechDocX71 I don’t think you do serious business, if you feel the need to rely on a free email service. Pay someone to setup your very own email server with your own unique domain and deduct it from your taxes. Or go through the process like everyone else, your choice. You are not a customer, you are a user, and Vivaldi doesn’t not benefit at all from you using this service. Webmail is a gift to the community. Whether you want to be a part of this community is up to you.

You would expect the same level
of interaction if arriving anywhere else acting out of place.Despite I'm not agree with some reactions that's a Forum with Volunteers helping each other.
--
About the email service, it's a kind of an extra for "Community Users" since SPAMMERS abused, so, that's the situation.
Take the good of every answer and interact the right way or choose a fast email option.
-
Which part of anything that I ever said in this forum was out of place?
If someone complains about a policy such as the one I complained about and your response is to insult me or side with your so called "Ambassadors", you are the problem.
You don't need to convince me to take my business elsewhere, uninstall your web browser and trash your business on social media because of your business practices and toxic culture. I'm way ahead of you.
