The tab does not show progress (upstream data and downstream data for webpage and pdf downloads
-
I have set my settings to download the pdf files when I click on a link, rather than viewing it in the browser.
When I load a webpage or download a pdf, Vivaldi does not show proper status like the Brave browser.
Brave shows a animated circle in place of the tab's favicon, which rotates anticlockwise when the query goes to the server; and after that, when the downlink data stream starts, the same circle rotates clockwise.
Thus it lets us know which phase of the transaction is happening at any point of time.
Brave shows the rotating circle for normal webpages and also while downloading a pdf file.
In comparison, Vivaldi's tab does not show any indication whatsoever when we click on a link for a pdf file. After a long period of inaction, the side bar suddenly starts showing the pdf download status. The tab does not show anything.
In addition, Vivaldi's tab circle does not rotate anticlockwise at all for either webpage or pdf file: It only rotates clockwise (only for the downlink data).
Desired feature: When the user clicks on any link (either for a webpage or to download a pdf file), the circle should rotate anti-clockwise when the server is being queried, and then it should rotate clockwise when the download starts.
