Allow collapsing of folders when adding/editing bookmarks
-
Add option for when saving bookmarks, showing available folders collapsed;
for click to expand - like speed dial experience;the issue is on visualizing the folder tree, where complex folder organization works o ly when browsing speed dial \ not when saving bookmarks;
Type : Suggestion;
//MODEDIT: edited title for clarity

I have a lot of directories and every time I add a bookmark I have to edit it to put it in the right directory.
Now for me it is a real hell to choose the right directory, since ALL of them are expanded, I see everything at once and it is very difficult to find the right one. It would be much more convenient if they were all collapsed by default, and I, guided by the logic of the hierarchy I had invented, chose the place to place the bookmark.The current bookmark editing behavior undermines all my efforts to come up with a convenient directory hierarchy.

I have a large list of bookmarks gathered over the years and dragged through various different browsers I used (it started in Opera 5 ).
When I want to bookmark the site I'm currently viewing I have to choose a folder and, since all folders are shown expanded, choosing the correct one is a nightmare for me. I have to scroll a million times, and carefully so, to pick the correct location. If the folders were collapsed instead (or I at least had a button to collapse them), I'd click e.g. Travel -> Flights, and not have to scroll past a myriad Programming (and everything else that comes before T) related subfolders I have.
It got to the point where I actively avoid bookmarking anything because it's such a painful interface, and ended up having 416 active tabs instead ️

@kaqqao I really mean no offense but how in the world are you able to gather so many important sites!!? I hardly am able to add 30 bookmarks let alone 200 and above. But oh well will upvote your post so that it could get a better chance of being noticed by devs and implemented asap.
Between there's always the option to edit the location of bookmark later. And (might even called biased for that) for some reason I find Android Bookmarks Editor better than the pc one. -
Started collecting bookmarks over 20 years ago... And I like having precise folders, so e.g. Programming bookmarks are grouped per language, tool, framework etc. So I have a lot of nested folders. When expanded at all levels, it's quite painful to navigate.
Thanks for the upvote!

I have an insane amount of bookmark folders to keep organized, but on Android it is impossible to find the folder I want to put a bookmark in since they're all expanded, creating a overwhelmingly long list to look through

Creating mobile Vivaldi bookmarks is currently a real a pain in the ass with the bookmark folder tree fully expanded and no option to collapse it. It forces users to scroll through pages of bookmark folders and it negatively affects one of Vivaldi's core features (bookmarks) and thus MANY users.
Please make the bookmark folder tree collapsed by default on Vivaldi mobile (as is the case with Vivaldi Desktop) and add options to expand and collapse again.

Furthermore, in Android (e.g. on a smartphone), you are not able to drag the scrollbar, because it is too small and has no option to touch and hold a "slider button".
