Keyboard shortcuts for mail
-
Hi all. This may need to go in feature requests, but the user interface is somewhat confusing on this point. Is there currently a keyboard shortcut for moving IMAP emails into an archive folder? The interface appears to be underlining letters as if they may work as shortcuts (it's underlining c in my archive folder of choice) but no combination of keys appears to make it want to move.
I am using Vivaldi on KDE Neon Linux, and getting IMAP emails from a gmail account and a StartMail account, for context. I would really like a keyboard shortcut for this, and then I could fall back into my normal email workflow.

@jasonwilson Or you can create your own command chains:

@stardepp Thanks - yes I saw those settings but as far as I can see there is no way to set a shortcut which moves mail to another folder

Re command chains: again, there doesn't appear to be a command for moving mail

@jasonwilson Maybe another Vivaldi user can help you with this.

@jasonwilson said in Keyboard shortcuts for mail:
for moving IMAP emails into an archive folder
there is no keyboard shortcut for moving mail (yet?). The only place mail can be moved is from one imap folder to another. Other than IMAP folders which Vivaldi has rudimentary support for (i.e. being able to download mails from them and move an email from one to the other), Vivaldi mail does not contain folders. Essentially "All messages" is your archive, and an email has flags/labels or states like unread, as well as keyword searches, all of which allows you to filter for the mails you are interested in without the need for any type of folder system (opinion mine).

Thanks for this - understood!

Hi!
I can move my E-mail to Archive by pressing the Menu-key on my keyboard (beside right-control) and then pressing 'v' on the keyboard (the underlined character). I can also move an E-mail to another IMAP-map by pressing 'o' etc.
Best,
Erik
