I am one of those "real people" who does real office job and I don't have more than 1-5 tabs opened at a time, mainly because I can only look at one page at a time in any case, and then just because it's only confusing me keeping more, I prefer opening/closing tabs when needed.I find it really ironical seeing a linux fanboy (which IS my definition of Hipster) call anyone else Hipster just because he doesn't fall into the tab hoarding trap.

@iAN-CooG So with 1-5 tabs opened you feel that that hipster-social-media-multimedia orientated browser (I added some "all relative to the term" terms) does a better job at handling tabs? Seems that you aren't eligible for discussing tab handling either

I never said that, I said that a specific browser targeted to hipsters (not like Vivaldi which is becoming more of a complete office-suite) is hipster, not those who don't open more than 5 tabs, if you use 1-5 tabs in Vivaldi and the same in the hipster browser why would you choose to use the hipster browser if you weren't a hipster yourself in the first place? Not talking about you of course

I still don't understand tab hoarding (nice term, by the way).
I am also a real person who does real work using a browser. That means I may - on rare occasions - end up opening 20-30 pages when researching something, and in those case I may even start opening new windows to separate the different leads I'm following. But once I've scanned through each page to see if it has any relevant info or further links to try, I will close it and move on.
I don't personally have a need for stacked tabs very often at all, but think it's great for those that use them that Vivaldi has all the options.
On the other hand, keeping dozens of tabs open all the time is pretty pointless in my opinion (that's what bookmarks and sessions are for), and keeping hundreds of tabs open is genuinely stupid. IMHO of course.

I go to the proper selection for add or remove and click on Microsoft Edge and the uninstall selection iMicrosoft and I do not know why each computer needs to be equipped with Microsoft 10. I do not trust Microsoft as far as I could throw them.

@catweazle: Mozilla Firefox, Google is the one I use the most, Mozilla Firefox is used once in a blue moon and Brave has never been used.
I believe Brave has been removed from my computer, Microsoft Edge is preventing me from being able to uninstall the said program; the only 2 selections I have is Modify, which I do not want to do, and uninstall BUT the uninstall button is grayed out and will not work.
Why does every computer need to be equipped with Microsoft 10? Why does any computer have to be equipped with Microsoft at all?!!!! I do not TRUST Microsoft as far as I could throw it!!!
You may say that I'm dependent on Google, as this is the only browser I have used except for MSN, when it was around. Everything I have done has been done through Google, Google is what I am comfortable with. Everything I have done, my individual email address(es), and various bookmarks has been through Google.
I do not thoroughly trust or like Google Chrome either.
I watched a video which was placed on youtube and the person doing the video spoke high praise for Vivaldi
I am far from being an expert computer tech, but hopefully after watching more of the videos
placed on youtube, I will be able to gain the skills of a computer tech. -
I was greatly unimpressed with Google for many reasons and one of the top reasons was for the pompous arrogance and displaying lack of appreciation shown for the Google users, lack of effective communication to provide knowledgeable and simplified answers and to correct technical issue(es) being experienced; in other words lack of professional conduct, ethics, communication and helpful assistance.
I an a beginner, when it comes to using Vivaldi, as I only downloaded it yesterday.
I would appreciate it very much if someone could provide the helpful answer(s) to the question(s) and, or concern(s) I have addressed. I was up until 5:00 am trying to find certain things, but could not. I was asking for help and expressing my frustration(s). I could not follow Taka and the girl whose name, I think was Giselle, as almost every time each made a thought there was an ugh or an um within the words spoken. I did not get to watch the full video Stephen did but he was much easier to follow and understand. -

Unless you have Windows 10 you will not be able to install and, or use.......... This is what I have heard from various people and before being able to download or add any type of programs. Like I said, I am not by any means a computer tech expert; so I am more than just a little weary of doing anything that should be done by a computer tech; which is why I am trying to learn the correct steps and, or method(s) that are explained on the videos for step by step instructions.

you can change the default search engine from bing to google.
bing is used on firefox, i never liked using bing and is one of the main reasons firefox was only used once in a blue moon.make sure that enable auto update is checked.
i looked for the enable auto update and could not find it anywhere.i tried changing bing to google and was unable to do so.
i tried adding a website name in the website panel and was unable to have the name i entered to be accepted.
the person in the video i watched only had to put the name of the website interest and it was accepted; when i tried to do the same, it was not accepted.
i was told to enter the url address, which the person on the video did not have to do and i do not know the whole url address of any website(s). ex: news, television shows and movie streaming, google, etc.....any of the website panels i did not want i could close and enter a website that i would enjoy using. this did not prove to be an easy task to complete.
at one point i was searching for the box one needs to check to allow ads but to prevent tracking; even though i am weary of ads and am in no way wanting to listen to the ads.
i do not like commercial ads but i do enjoy watching and, or listening to television shows and, or movies as i do work on my computer.i would not dare do anything like this if i did not have the step by step instructions provided by the person on the video posted on youtube.
basically i feel very insecure and vulnerable doing anything on a computer, without clear and concise step by step instructions by a computer tech; and even then i am nervous.
i want to avoid unwanted pop ups altogether, so where do i have to go, to find the box i have to check, to avoid any pop ups whatsoever?
what television shows and movie streaming sites do not have commercial ads, and can be placed in a vivaldi website panel?
there was one website i was using and i was really pleased with the quality television shows and movies selections, as well as the video quality, sound quality, and list of episode selections per season, which could be conveniently chosen.
the only thing i did not enjoy was the beat the clock game (figuratively speaking) to close the tab there was a virus loading on.
i did well as the avg scan basically stated there wasn't any virus(es) and, or malware(s) on my computer.
this is why i asked if anyone on the vivaldi staff knew of television shows and movie streaming website(s) where closing tab(s) with a virus loading is in no way an issue.i believed vivaldi exceeded google in quality service(s) and would not allow any such website(s) to be placed for selection on vivaldi search.
that is one of the reasons i decided to download vivaldi.another reason is for the high praise of vivaldi by the computer tech i was watching on youtube; who basically stated that once you try vivaldi you won't want to go back to the browser(s) you were using before.
does vivaldi provide the option of email accounts to be created and, or set up?
i won't mention the name of the browser, but i am growing tired of going to my email accounts list that one and, or more of my accounts has been removed from the list and then i have to go through a whole bunch of rigamorall to retrieve the email address which had been removed for no other reason then it had not been used for a period of time.
i truly did not appreciate this, especially when i was not notified before any such action was taken.
my email address(es) are to be readily accessible and to be used at my convenience and my discretion; i should not have to worry about anything such as this, ever happening, no matter what browser iam using at the time.these are just some of the questions/concern(s) i have.
please remember i am a vivaldi beginner & i am not a computer tech expert.

EX: NEWS, TELEVISION SHOWS AND MOVIE STREAMING, GOOGLE, ETC.....ANY OF THE WEBSITE PANELS I DID NOT WANT I COULD CLOSE AND ENTER A WEBSITE THAT I WOULD ENJOY USING. THIS DID NOT PROVE TO BE AN EASY TASK TO COMPLETE.
First go to the website, then open the panel (F4) and click the '+' button to add it.

I remember a few months ago while working, I noticed Vivaldi started to lag a bit... I checked the linux uptime: just 3 months... not that... Firefox was closed (I use it for some testing)... not that either; then I hit F2 and checked: 78 tabs in four windows.
Time for come cleanup: manpages open, APIs docs everywhere... I closed about 40 of them, and grouped a few more. I even managed to close one of the windows. After that, I closed and opened Vivaldi again, just to "clean-up" resources.
Next feature: auto-destruct tabs: set up a tab to close itself if not visited in X days.

Vivaldi's tab management is lacking in so many regards. No option to open parent tab after closing tab. No silbing/child tab options. No ranking in which tab should take priority after closing. And the built-in "related tab" is pretty broken.
