Option to turn-off auto tab refreshing
-
I leave tabs open so I can come back to it if i left it in a place where there is text or comments.
Currently when I go back to those tabs they refresh automatically and I lost the place I was at on the page.
I'd like an option to turn that off. An option that allows the auto refreshing of the page and to leave that feature off because there has been many endless times where I have left a few tabs open so I can scroll through the page and leave it at a certain point, whether reading a long text or 100s of comments and disappointed that the browser auto-refreshes it and I lose the place I left the tab at.//MODEDIT: duplicate of Option to disable tab hibernation

Vivaldi doesn't auto-refresh tabs unless you tell it to.
However, it does "hibernate" tabs if it feels like your system is running low on memory in order to prevent system slowdowns (this is inherited from Chromium and I don't know what limit it uses to determine if your memory is mostly full). When you re-visit a hibernated tab it will reload that tab to bring it back into memory.
I do agree, though, that it would be interesting with an option to disable this, maybe just for individual tabs from the context menu.

I don't believe Chrome has anything to do with it, because before the latest update to Vivaldi, this problem didn't occur. I keep 3 separate game tabs open, 24/7, and since the update, they seem to refresh every 15 min or so, and it's extremely annoying!!! It would be nice to find a way to turn this "Auto Refresh" off!!!

@Draxxan I agree. I never had this problem before and now suddenly a number of my tabs are auto-refreshing when I go back to them, including ones like my pinned email tab. Either this never happened before or I disabled it as soon as I installed Vivaldi, because it hasn't existed for a few years now since I switched to Vivaldi. And now that it started and seriously bothers me, I'm digging through the settings and see no way to change it, and all the suggestions from old posts I find online no longer apply as the settings apparently no longer exist.
